in purity, understanding, patience and kindness; in the Holy Spirit and in sincere love;

We remain pure. We understand completely what it means to serve God. We are patient and kind. We serve him in the power of the Holy Spirit. We serve him with true love.

We prove ourselves by our purity, our understanding, our patience, our kindness, by the Holy Spirit within us, and by our sincere love.

For this reason we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding;that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God;strengthened with all might, according to His glorious power, for all patience and longsuffering with joy;

Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up;

Let no one despise your youth, but be an example to the believers in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity.

Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering;

clearly you are an epistle of Christ, ministered by us, written not with ink but by the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of flesh, that is, of the heart.

For our gospel did not come to you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Spirit and in much assurance, as you know what kind of men we were among you for your sake.And you became followers of us and of the Lord, having received the word in much affliction, with joy of the Holy Spirit,

in all things showing yourself to be a pattern of good works; in doctrine showing integrity, reverence, incorruptibility,

Therefore He who supplies the Spirit to you and works miracles among you, does He do it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?—

And I will very gladly spend and be spent for your souls; though the more abundantly I love you, the less I am loved.

For out of much affliction and anguish of heart I wrote to you, with many tears, not that you should be grieved, but that you might know the love which I have so abundantly for you.

This only I want to learn from you: Did you receive the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?

by which, when you read, you may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ),

in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,

Open your hearts to us. We have wronged no one, we have corrupted no one, we have cheated no one.

For it is the God who commanded light to shine out of darkness, who has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

with all lowliness and gentleness, with longsuffering, bearing with one another in love,

Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching.

Since you have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit in sincere love of the brethren, love one another fervently with a pure heart,
