Therefore I am content with weaknesses, with insults, with troubles, with persecutions and difficulties for the sake of Christ, for whenever I am weak, then I am strong.

故此我為基督的緣故、就以種種的軟弱、凌辱、艱難、逼迫和困迫、為可喜悅；因為我甚麼時候軟弱，我甚麼時候就有能力而剛強。

所以，為了基督的緣故，我在那些軟弱中、凌辱中、艱難中、在逼迫和困苦中，都感到喜悅；因為我什麼時候軟弱，什麼時候就剛強了。

我為基督、以荏弱、凌辱、空乏、窘逐、阨窮為喜、蓋我弱時則強焉、○

吾為基督、以荏弱、凌辱、災害、窘逐、阨窮、為喜、蓋吾柔時反能矣、

是以我為基督、以荏弱、凌辱、患難、窘逐、困苦為樂、蓋我弱時反強矣、

吾為基督之故、凡肉體之柔弱、以及一切侮辱、艱難、窘迫、困苦、皆所甘受。蓋吾之弱、正吾之所以強也。

That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

Because of how I suffered for Christ, I’m glad that I am weak. I am glad in hard times. I am glad when people say mean things about me. I am glad when things are difficult. And I am glad when people make me suffer. When I am weak, I am strong.

For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

That’s why I take pleasure in my weaknesses, and in the insults, hardships, persecutions, and troubles that I suffer for Christ. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

So I take pleasure in weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and in difficulties, for the sake of Christ. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

Therefore I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in distresses, in persecutions, in difficulties, in behalf of Christ; for when I am weak, then I am strong.

Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

Wherefore I take pleasure in weaknesses, in injuries, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.

So I take pleasure in weaknesses, insults, catastrophes, persecutions, and in pressures, because of Christ. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ’s sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.

Therefore I take pleasure in weaknesses, in injuries, in necessities, in persecutions, and in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then am I strong.

But he said to me,“ My grace is enough for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” So then, I will boast most gladly about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may reside in me.

Finally, be strengthened in the Lord and in the strength of his power.

For indeed he was crucified by reason of weakness, but he lives because of God’s power. For we also are weak in him, but we will live together with him, because of God’s power toward you.

Not only this, but we also rejoice in sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance,

My brothers and sisters, consider it nothing but joy when you fall into all sorts of trials,

This brings you great joy, although you may have to suffer for a short time in various trials.Such trials show the proven character of your faith, which is much more valuable than gold– gold that is tested by fire, even though it is passing away– and will bring praise and glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed.

For our momentary, light suffering is producing for us an eternal weight of glory far beyond all comparison

who comforts us in all our troubles so that we may be able to comfort those experiencing any trouble with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.

But as God’s servants, we have commended ourselves in every way, with great endurance, in persecutions, in difficulties, in distresses,

And he died for all so that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised.

We are fools for Christ, but you are wise in Christ! We are weak, but you are strong! You are distinguished, we are dishonored!

But they will do all these things to you on account of my name, because they do not know the one who sent me.

For we rejoice whenever we are weak, but you are strong. And we pray for this: that you may become fully qualified.

“ Blessed are you when people hate you, and when they exclude you and insult you and reject you as evil on account of the Son of Man!

So they left the council rejoicing because they had been considered worthy to suffer dishonor for the sake of the name.

I am also aware that you have persisted steadfastly, endured much for the sake of my name, and have not grown weary.

As a result we ourselves boast about you in the churches of God for your perseverance and faith in all the persecutions and afflictions you are enduring.

Now I rejoice in my sufferings for you, and I fill up in my physical body– for the sake of his body, the church– what is lacking in the sufferings of Christ.

Are they servants of Christ?( I am talking like I am out of my mind!) I am even more so: with much greater labors, with far more imprisonments, with more severe beatings, facing death many times.Five times I received from the Jews forty lashes less one.Three times I was beaten with a rod. Once I received a stoning. Three times I suffered shipwreck. A night and a day I spent adrift in the open sea.I have been on journeys many times, in dangers from rivers, in dangers from robbers, in dangers from my own countrymen, in dangers from Gentiles, in dangers in the city, in dangers in the wilderness, in dangers at sea, in dangers from false brothers,in hard work and toil, through many sleepless nights, in hunger and thirst, many times without food, in cold and without enough clothing.Apart from other things, there is the daily pressure on me of my anxious concern for all the churches.Who is weak, and I am not weak? Who is led into sin, and I do not burn with indignation?If I must boast, I will boast about the things that show my weakness.

For it has been granted to you not only to believe in Christ but also to suffer for him,

We are experiencing trouble on every side, but are not crushed; we are perplexed, but not driven to despair;we are persecuted, but not abandoned; we are knocked down, but not destroyed,always carrying around in our body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be made visible in our body.For we who are alive are constantly being handed over to death for Jesus’ sake, so that the life of Jesus may also be made visible in our mortal body.

For we do not proclaim ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, and ourselves as your slaves for Jesus’ sake.

For it is not the person who commends himself who is approved, but the person the Lord commends.

But rejoice in the degree that you have shared in the sufferings of Christ, so that when his glory is revealed you may also rejoice and be glad.If you are insulted for the name of Christ, you are blessed, because the Spirit of glory, who is the Spirit of God, rests on you.

Who will separate us from the love of Christ? Will trouble, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword?As it is written,“ For your sake we encounter death all day long; we were considered as sheep to be slaughtered.”No, in all these things we have complete victory through him who loved us!For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor heavenly rulers, nor things that are present, nor things to come, nor powers,nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in creation will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

But even if I am being poured out like a drink offering on the sacrifice and service of your faith, I am glad and rejoice together with all of you.And in the same way you also should be glad and rejoice together with me.

I have great confidence in you; I take great pride on your behalf. I am filled with encouragement; I am overflowing with joy in the midst of all our suffering.
