Now this is our boast: Our conscience testifies that we have conducted ourselves in the world, and especially in our relations with you, with integrity and godly sincerity. We have done so, relying not on worldly wisdom but on God’s grace.

Here is what we take pride in. Our sense of what is right and wrong tells us how we have acted. We have lived with honor and godly honesty. We have depended on God’s grace and not on the world’s wisdom. We lived that way most of all when we were dealing with you.

Let him show by good conduct that his works are done in the meekness of wisdom.But if you have bitter envy and self-seeking in your hearts, do not boast and lie against the truth.This wisdom does not descend from above, but is earthly, sensual, demonic.For where envy and self-seeking exist, confusion and every evil thing are there.But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy.Now the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.

Pray for us; for we are confident that we have a good conscience, in all things desiring to live honorably.

Then Paul, looking earnestly at the council, said,“ Men and brethren, I have lived in all good conscience before God until this day.”

But we have renounced the hidden things of shame, not walking in craftiness nor handling the word of God deceitfully, but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man’s conscience in the sight of God.

This being so, I myself always strive to have a conscience without offense toward God and men.

There is also an antitype which now saves us— baptism( not the removal of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God), through the resurrection of Jesus Christ,

Now the purpose of the commandment is love from a pure heart, from a good conscience, and from sincere faith,

Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, nor with the leaven of malice and wickedness, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.

And my speech and my preaching were not with persuasive words of human wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power,that your faith should not be in the wisdom of men but in the power of God.

I speak not by commandment, but I am testing the sincerity of your love by the diligence of others.

For those who are such do not serve our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly, and by smooth words and flattering speech deceive the hearts of the simple.For your obedience has become known to all. Therefore I am glad on your behalf; but I want you to be wise in what is good, and simple concerning evil.

But I fear, lest somehow, as the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness, so your minds may be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.

For I know of nothing against myself, yet I am not justified by this; but He who judges me is the Lord.

But by the grace of God I am what I am, and His grace toward me was not in vain; but I labored more abundantly than they all, yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.

that you may approve the things that are excellent, that you may be sincere and without offense till the day of Christ,

Far be it from me That I should say you are right; Till I die I will not put away my integrity from me.My righteousness I hold fast, and will not let it go; My heart shall not reproach me as long as I live.

Though He slay me, yet will I trust Him. Even so, I will defend my own ways before Him.

And I will very gladly spend and be spent for your souls; though the more abundantly I love you, the less I am loved.But be that as it may, I did not burden you. Nevertheless, being crafty, I caught you by cunning!Did I take advantage of you by any of those whom I sent to you?I urged Titus, and sent our brother with him. Did Titus take advantage of you? Did we not walk in the same spirit? Did we not walk in the same steps?Again, do you think that we excuse ourselves to you? We speak before God in Christ. But we do all things, beloved, for your edification.

Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness,

Here is my mark. Oh, that the Almighty would answer me, That my Prosecutor had written a book!Surely I would carry it on my shoulder, And bind it on me like a crown;I would declare to Him the number of my steps; Like a prince I would approach Him.“ If my land cries out against me, And its furrows weep together;If I have eaten its fruit without money, Or caused its owners to lose their lives;Then let thistles grow instead of wheat, And weeds instead of barley.” The words of Job are ended.

having a good conscience, that when they defame you as evildoers, those who revile your good conduct in Christ may be ashamed.

Therefore, when I was planning this, did I do it lightly? Or the things I plan, do I plan according to the flesh, that with me there should be Yes, Yes, and No, No?

But let each one examine his own work, and then he will have rejoicing in himself alone, and not in another.

But He gives more grace. Therefore He says:“ God resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble.”

“ Now therefore, fear the Lord, serve Him in sincerity and in truth, and put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the River and in Egypt. Serve the Lord!

I tell the truth in Christ, I am not lying, my conscience also bearing me witness in the Holy Spirit,

having faith and a good conscience, which some having rejected, concerning the faith have suffered shipwreck,of whom are Hymenaeus and Alexander, whom I delivered to Satan that they may learn not to blaspheme.

But I beg you that when I am present I may not be bold with that confidence by which I intend to be bold against some, who think of us as if we walked according to the flesh.For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh.For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds,
