蓋斯為悖逆之民、誑言之子、不願聽主法之子、

故其根必若朽物、其花飛散如塵、勢如火焰焚稈、烈焰燬芻、因彼違棄萬有之主之法、藐視以色列聖主之言、

既登王位、當由祭司利未人所守此律法之書、抄錄一卷、存於其所、畢生誦之、則可知畏其天主耶和華、恪守此律法一切言、遵行此諸律例、

約瑟與瑪利亞遵主律法、行諸事畢、乃歸迦利利之故邑拿撒勒、

此律法之書、不可離爾口、晝夜思維、致爾謹守遵行凡載於書者、如是必亨通於凡所作、於凡所作原文作於爾諸道如是必明哲、必明哲或作必利達

至大祭司希勒家所、以奉於主殿之銀付之、此銀乃守門之利未人、捐自瑪拿西人、以法蓮人、以色列餘民、猶大人、便雅憫人、捐畢、乃歸耶路撒冷、捐畢乃歸耶路撒冷又作及耶路撒冷居民

命耶路撒冷居民、以祭司與利未人所應得之物給之、俾其奮勉守主之律法、

爾豈可自誇曰、我儕有智慧、主之律法為我所有、作律法徒然矣、繕寫律法徒然矣、

於是亞倫與其諸子、遵主託摩西所命諸事而行、

羅波安鞏固其國、既強盛、則棄主之律法、以色列人眾效之、

此乃主在西乃山、託摩西為以色列人所立之禮儀法度律例、

摩西以此律法之言、錄之於書、既畢此事、遂諭舁主約匱之利未人曰、以此律法之書、置於主爾天主約匱之旁、可在彼向爾曹作證、

惟喜悅主之律法、晝夜思維、似此之人、即為有福、

祭司希勒家謂繕寫沙番曰、我在主殿得律法書、希勒家以書授沙番、沙番讀之、繕寫沙番復命於王曰、王之臣僕、已將主殿所貯之銀、傾而出之、付於主殿理事者、繕寫沙番又奏王曰、祭司希勒家以書授我、沙番遂讀於王前、王聞律法書之言、自裂其衣、王乃命祭司希勒家、沙番子亞希甘、米該雅子亞革博、繕寫沙番、王之內臣亞撒雅、曰、爾往、為我、為民、為猶大全族、因此書之言問於主、我列祖不聽從此書之言、不遵此書所載一切諭我之命而行、主之烈怒、必向我如火之烈、有女先知戶勒大、乃掌禮服者、哈珥哈斯孫特瓦子、沙龍之妻、居耶路撒冷第二城中、祭司希勒家、亞希甘、亞革博、沙番、亞撒雅、咸往見之、與之語、戶勒大謂之曰、主以色列之天主如是云、遣爾來問我者、爾可告之曰、主如是云、我必降災於此處、及其居民、循猶大王所讀之書中言、因猶大人違棄我、焚香於他神、他神或作異邦之神以其所為、干犯我怒、故我向此處震怒、如烈火不熄、猶大王遣爾曹問主、爾曹當如是告之曰、主以色列之天主如是云、爾約西亞聞斯言、聞我指此處與其居民所言、曰、此處必為荒墟、居民必受咒詛、爾則中心敬服、於我前自卑、裂衣、哭於我前、故我俯聽爾、使爾平康歸爾列祖、歸爾墓中、我所將降於此處之諸災、不使爾目睹之、此乃主所言、使者返、復言於王、

以斯拉盡心考究主之律法而遵行之、又以律例法度誨以色列人、

約西亞其餘之事、及其諸善、遵主之律法所載而行者、
