The anger of the Lord burned against Amaziah, and he sent a prophet to him, who said,“ Why do you consult this people’s gods, which could not save their own people from your hand?”

The Lord was very angry with Amaziah. He sent a prophet to him. The prophet said,“ Why do you ask the gods of those people for advice? They couldn’t even save their own people from your power!”

So the LORD’s anger was against Amaziah, and he sent a prophet to him, who said,“ Why have you sought a people’s gods that could not rescue their own people from you?”

So the Lord’s anger was against Amaziah, and He sent a prophet to him, who said,“ Why have you sought a people’s gods that could not deliver their own people from your hand?”

Wherefore the anger of the LORD was kindled against Amaziah, and he sent unto him a prophet, which said unto him, Why hast thou sought after the gods of the people, which could not deliver their own people out of thine hand?

The LORD was angry at Amaziah and sent a prophet to him, who said,“ Why are you following these gods that could not deliver their own people from your power?”

Therefore Yahweh’s anger burned against Amaziah, and he sent to him a prophet, who said to him,“ Why have you sought after the gods of the people, which have not delivered their own people out of your hand?”

列邦的神明都是假的，唯獨耶和華創造了諸天。

耶和華派拿單先知去見大衛。拿單對大衛說：「一座城裡有兩個人，一個富有，一個貧窮。富人擁有許多牛羊，窮人除了自己買來養的一隻母羊羔以外，什麼也沒有。他悉心飼養母羊羔，讓牠跟自己的兒女一起長大，他吃什麼，羊也吃什麼，他喝什麼，羊也喝什麼，還睡在他的懷中，就像他的女兒一樣。一天，富人家中來了客人，他捨不得拿自己的牛羊款待客人，卻宰了窮人的羊給客人吃。」大衛聽後非常憤怒，對拿單說：「我憑永活的耶和華起誓，這人實在該死！他真是沒有半點憐憫之心，他必須償還那窮人四倍！」

彼勒屈膝跪下，尼波彎腰降服。這些巴比倫的偶像成為野獸和牲畜背上的重負，使其疲憊不堪。它們一同屈膝降服，不但救不了被擄的巴比倫人，自己也被擄去。

論到吃獻給偶像的祭物，我們知道世上的偶像算不得什麼，只有一位上帝，此外別無他神。

製造偶像的真是無用，他們珍愛的偶像毫無價值。拜神像的人目盲眼瞎，愚昧無知，自找羞辱。製造神像、雕刻無益偶像的是誰？

他們的神像不過是人用金銀造的。它們有口不能言，有眼不能看，有耳不能聽，有鼻不能聞，有手不能摸，有腳不能走，有喉嚨也不能發聲。那些製造它們、信靠它們的人也會和它們一樣。

你們不可跟這裡的居民立約，要毀掉他們的祭壇。』可是你們為什麼不聽呢？

哈拿尼先見的兒子耶戶出來迎接約沙法王，對他說：「你怎能幫助惡人，愛那憎恨耶和華的人呢？你這樣做已經惹怒耶和華了。

萬國的王啊，誰不敬畏你？敬畏你是理所當然的。因為萬國的智者和君王中無人能與你相比。

瑪利沙人多大瓦的兒子以利以謝向約沙法預言說：「因為你與亞哈謝修好，耶和華必破壞你所造的船隻。」那些船隻果然壞了，無法前往他施。

耶和華說：「你們的祖先在我身上找到什麼過錯，以致他們遠離我，去追隨虛妄的神明，使自己變得虛妄呢？

上帝的靈感動了耶何耶大祭司的兒子撒迦利亞，他便站在高處對民眾說：「耶和華上帝這樣說，『你們為什麼違反耶和華的誡命，以致不得亨通呢？既然你們背棄我，我也必離棄你們。』」

那時，哈拿尼先見晉見猶大王亞撒說：「因為你不倚靠你的上帝耶和華，反而倚靠亞蘭王，所以亞蘭王的軍隊已經從你手中逃脫。古實人與路比人不是一支強大的軍隊嗎？他們的戰車騎兵不是極多嗎？然而，因為你倚靠耶和華，耶和華就把他們交在你手中。耶和華的眼目遍察天下，彰顯大能來扶助那些全心歸向祂的人。你做了愚蠢的事！從此以後，你必遭遇戰禍。」

一位上帝的僕人來對他說：「王啊，不要讓以色列的軍隊與你同去，因為耶和華不與以色列人——以法蓮的子孫同在。
