They abandoned the temple of the Lord, the God of their ancestors, and worshiped Asherah poles and idols. Because of their guilt, God’s anger came on Judah and Jerusalem.

They turned their backs on the temple of the Lord, the God of their people. They worshiped poles made to honor the female god named Asherah. They also worshiped statues of other gods. Because Judah and Jerusalem were guilty of sin, God became angry with them.

And they abandoned the house of the Lord, the God of their fathers, and served the Asherim and the idols. And wrath came upon Judah and Jerusalem for this guilt of theirs.

They decided to abandon the Temple of the Lord, the God of their ancestors, and they worshiped Asherah poles and idols instead! Because of this sin, divine anger fell on Judah and Jerusalem.

哈拿尼先见的儿子耶户出来迎接约沙法王，对他说：“你怎能帮助恶人，爱那憎恨耶和华的人呢？你这样做已经惹怒耶和华了。

之后，约阿施有意整修耶和华的殿，

从前谢拉的曾孙亚干私自留下那些耶和华吩咐要毁灭的东西，以致耶和华的烈怒临到以色列全体会众，因他的罪而死的不只他一个人！”

说：“你们不可把这些俘虏带进来，我们的罪已经够重了，耶和华的烈怒已经临到以色列人，不要再得罪耶和华，加重我们的罪恶了。”

因此，耶和华的烈怒临到犹大和耶路撒冷，使他们的遭遇令人恐惧、震惊、嗤笑，正如你们亲眼所见的。

希西迦却没有为他所蒙的恩典而感谢上帝，因为他心中骄傲。因此，上帝的烈怒临到他、犹大和耶路撒冷。

他们在各高岗上、树荫下为自己建造丘坛，竖立神柱和亚舍拉神像，

犹大的首领如同擅移地界的人，侵吞以色列的领土，我要将烈怒如洪水般倾泻在他们身上。以法莲因甘愿追随偶像而受欺压，被审判压碎。

反而比前人行恶更甚，为自己设立其他神明，铸造神像，惹我发怒，把我抛在脑后。

相反，要拆掉他们的祭坛，打碎他们的神柱，砍掉他们的亚舍拉神像。

我要像狮子一样对待以法莲，如猛狮一样对待犹大家，将他们撕碎、拖走，无人能营救他们。

不要被虚空的道理欺骗，因为上帝的烈怒必临到上述那些悖逆的人。

所有祭司长和民众也都仿效外族人的一切可憎行径，犯了大罪，玷污了耶和华在耶路撒冷使之圣洁的殿。他们祖先的上帝耶和华因为怜爱祂的子民和祂的居所，就不断派使者来劝告他们。他们却嘲弄耶和华上帝的使者，藐视祂的话，嘲笑祂的先知，以致祂的愤怒临到祂的子民身上，无可挽救。

他重建他父亲希西迦拆毁的丘坛，为巴力筑造祭坛，制造亚舍拉神像，并祭拜和供奉天上的万象。耶和华曾指着祂的殿说：“我的名必永远在耶路撒冷。”他却在耶和华的殿内建造异教的祭坛。他在耶和华殿的两个院子里建造祭拜天上万象的祭坛。他还在欣嫩子谷把自己的儿子烧死，献作祭物。他行巫术、占卜、观兆，求问灵媒和巫师。他做了许多耶和华视为恶的事，惹耶和华发怒。他雕刻偶像，放在上帝的殿中。关于这殿，上帝曾经对大卫和他儿子所罗门说：“我从以色列众支派中选择了这殿和耶路撒冷，我的名要在这里永远受尊崇。

而是重蹈以色列诸王的覆辙，与亚哈家一样，引诱犹大人和耶路撒冷的居民与假神苟合，还杀了比你好的兄弟。

耶和华又向以色列人发怒，祂促使大卫来对付他们，让大卫统计以色列和犹大的人口。

所罗门年老的时候，他的嫔妃诱惑他的心去追随别的神明。他没有像他父亲大卫那样忠心顺服他的上帝耶和华。所罗门拜西顿人的女神亚斯她录和亚扪人的可憎神明米勒公。

以色列人选择新的神明，便战祸临门，四万以色列人中找不到一矛一盾。

“我必伸手攻击犹大，以及所有住在耶路撒冷的人，铲除巴力的余迹及拜偶像之祭司的名号。我必铲除那些在屋顶祭拜天上万象的人，铲除敬拜我、凭我起誓又凭米勒公起誓的人，铲除离弃我、不寻求我、不求问我的人。”
