He followed the ways of his father Asa and did not stray from them; he did what was right in the eyes of the Lord.

Jehoshaphat followed the ways of his father Asa. He didn’t wander away from them. He did what was right in the eyes of the Lord.

He walked in the way of Asa his father and did not turn aside from it, doing what was right in the sight of the Lord.

Jehoshaphat was a good king, following the ways of his father, Asa. He did what was pleasing in the Lord’s sight.

He walked in the ways of Asa his father; he did not turn away from it but did what was right in the LORD’s sight.

He walked in the way of his father Asa and did not deviate from it, doing right in the sight of the Lord.

And he walked in the way of his father Asa, and did not turn aside from it, doing what was right in the sight of the Lord.

他口中的話語都是罪惡和詭詐，他不再是明慧的，也不再行善。

耶和華和約沙法同在，因為他遵行了他祖先大衛最初所行的道路，沒有尋求巴力。只尋求他父親的神，遵行神的誡命，沒有隨從以色列人的行為。因此，耶和華使他統治的國穩固；猶大各地都給他進貢，所以約沙法的財富很多，極有尊榮。他勇敢地遵行耶和華的道路，並且從猶大地中除掉邱壇和亞舍拉。

亞撒行耶和華看為正的事，像他祖大衛一樣。

亞撒呼求耶和華他的神說：“耶和華啊，強弱懸殊，除你以外沒有別的幫助。耶和華我們的神啊，求你幫助我們。因為我們倚靠你，奉你的名去對抗這大軍。耶和華啊，你是我們的神，不要讓人勝過你。”於是耶和華在亞撒和猶大人面前，使古實人大敗，古實人就逃跑。亞撒和跟隨他的人民追趕他們，直到基拉耳；古實人被殺的很多，不能恢復強盛；因為他們在耶和華和他的軍隊面前被擊潰了；猶大人奪取了極多戰利品。

因為我謹守了耶和華的道，未曾作惡離開我的神。

那時，先見哈拿尼來見猶大王亞撒，對他說：“因你倚靠亞蘭王，沒有倚靠耶和華你的神，所以亞蘭王的軍隊才可以脫離你的手。古實人和路比人不是有強大的軍隊嗎？戰車和馬兵不是極多嗎？只因你倚靠耶和華，耶和華就把他們交在你手裡。耶和華的眼目遍察全地，一心歸向他的，他必以大能扶助他們；你作這事太愚昧了。從今以後，你必常有戰爭。”於是亞撒對先見發怒，把他囚在監裡，因為亞撒為了這事很惱怒他。同時亞撒也壓迫人民。亞撒所行的事蹟，一生的始末，都記在猶大和以色列諸王記上。亞撒在位第三十九年，患了腳病，病情嚴重；可是，連他患病的時候，也沒有尋求耶和華，只管尋求醫生。

亞撒行耶和華他的神看為善為正的事。（本節在《馬索拉文本》為14:1）他除掉外族人的祭壇和邱壇，打斷神柱，砍下亞舍拉，吩咐猶大人尋求耶和華他們列祖的神，遵行他的律法和誡命。他又在猶大各城中，除掉邱壇和香壇。那時全國在他的統治下享受太平。
