俾正爾行以向外人、致無匱乏、○

行所當行、以待會外之人、而己無匱乏、

如是、爾向外人行事合宜、而己亦無所乏也、○

務使外界睹爾品格高尚、行為端正、而無求於人也。

so that your daily life may win the respect of outsiders and so that you will not be dependent on anybody.

Then unbelievers will have respect for your everyday life. And you won’t have to depend on anyone.

so that you may walk properly before outsiders and be dependent on no one.

Then people who are not believers will respect the way you live, and you will not need to depend on others.

so that you may behave properly in the presence of outsiders and not be dependent on anyone.

so that you will behave properly toward outsiders and not be in any need.

that you may walk properly toward those who are outside, and that you may lack nothing.

that ye may walk becomingly toward them that are without, and may have need of nothing.

In this way you will live a decent life before outsiders and not be in need.

Conduct yourselves honorably among the Gentiles, so that in a case where they speak against you as those who do what is evil, they will, by observing your good works, glorify God on the day of visitation.

In the same way, wives, submit yourselves to your own husbands so that, even if some disobey the Christian message, they may be won over without a message by the way their wives live

However, do this with gentleness and respect, keeping your conscience clear, so that when you are accused, those who denounce your Christian life will be put to shame.For it is better to suffer for doing good, if that should be God’s will, than for doing evil.

Stay away from every kind of evil.

Finally brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable— if there is any moral excellence and if there is any praise— dwell on these things.

Or did I commit a sin by humbling myself so that you might be exalted, because I preached the gospel of God to you free of charge?I robbed other churches by taking pay from them to minister to you.When I was present with you and in need, I did not burden anyone, for the brothers who came from Macedonia supplied my needs. I have kept myself, and will keep myself, from burdening you in any way.

We are taking this precaution so no one can criticize us about this large sum administered by us.For we are making provision for what is right, not only before the Lord but also before men.

For what business is it of mine to judge outsiders? Don’t you judge those who are inside?But God judges outsiders. Put away the evil person from among yourselves.
