Then David went from there to Mizpah in Moab, where he said to the king of Moab,“ Please let my father and mother stay with you until I know what God is going to do for me.”

From there David went to Mizpah in Moab and said to the king of Moab,“ Would you let my father and mother come and stay with you until I learn what God will do for me?”

From there David went to Mizpah in Moab. He spoke to the king of Moab. He said,“ Please let my father and mother come and stay with you. Let them stay until I learn what God will do for me.”

And David went from there to Mizpeh of Moab. And he said to the king of Moab,“ Please let my father and my mother stay with you, till I know what God will do for me.”

Later David went to Mizpeh in Moab, where he asked the king,“ Please allow my father and mother to live here with you until I know what God is going to do for me.”

From there David went to Mizpeh of Moab where he said to the king of Moab,“ Please let my father and mother stay with you until I know what God will do for me.”

And David went from there to Mizpah of Moab; and he said to the king of Moab,“ Please let my father and my mother come and stay with you until I know what God will do for me.”

Then David went from there to Mizpah of Moab; and he said to the king of Moab,“ Please let my father and mother come here with you, till I know what God will do for me.”

And David went thence to Mizpeh of Moab: and he said unto the king of Moab, Let my father and my mother, I pray thee, come forth, and be with you, till I know what God will do for me.

From there David went to Mizpeh of Moab where he said to the king of Moab,“ Please let my father and mother stay with you until I know what God will do for me.”

And David went thence to Mizpeh of Moab: and he said unto the king of Moab, Let my father and my mother, I pray thee, come forth,[ and be] with you, till I know what God will do for me.

David went from there to Mizpeh of Moab, and he said to the king of Moab,“ Please let my father and my mother come out with you, until I know what God will do for me.”

After Saul had secured his royal position over Israel, he fought against all their enemies on all sides– the Moabites, Ammonites, Edomites, the kings of Zobah, and the Philistines. In every direction that he turned he was victorious.

For God said,‘ Honor your father and mother’ and‘ Whoever insults his father or mother must be put to death.’But you say,‘ If someone tells his father or mother,“ Whatever help you would have received from me is given to God,”he does not need to honor his father.’ You have nullified the word of God on account of your tradition.

So I hope to send him as soon as I know more about my situation,though I am confident in the Lord that I too will be coming to see you soon.

During the time of the judges there was a famine in the land of Judah. So a man from Bethlehem in Judah went to live as a resident foreigner in the region of Moab, along with his wife and two sons.( Now the man’s name was Elimelech, his wife was Naomi, and his two sons were Mahlon and Kilion. They were of the clan of Ephrath from Bethlehem in Judah.) They entered the region of Moab and settled there.Sometime later Naomi’s husband Elimelech died, so she and her two sons were left alone.So her sons married Moabite women.( One was named Orpah and the other Ruth.) And they continued to live there about ten years.

The LORD’s spirit empowered Jephthah. He passed through Gilead and Manasseh and went to Mizpah in Gilead. From there he approached the Ammonites.

I have also acquired Ruth the Moabite, the wife of Mahlon, as my wife to raise up a descendant who will inherit his property so the name of the deceased might not disappear from among his relatives and from his village. You are witnesses today.”

Then the king said to Zadok,“ Take the ark of God back to the city. If I find favor in the LORD’s sight he will bring me back and enable me to see both it and his dwelling place again.However, if he should say,‘ I do not take pleasure in you,’ then he will deal with me in a way that he considers appropriate.”

So Samuel told him everything. He did not hold back anything from him. Eli said,“ The LORD will do what he pleases.”

“ Honor your father and your mother, that you may live a long time in the land the LORD your God is giving to you.

The neighbor women named him, saying,“ A son has been born to Naomi.” They named him Obed. Now he became the father of Jesse– David’s father!

So Joseph settled his father and his brothers. He gave them territory in the land of Egypt, in the best region of the land, the land of Rameses, just as Pharaoh had commanded.

But if a widow has children or grandchildren, they should first learn to fulfill their duty toward their own household and so repay their parents what is owed them. For this is what pleases God.
