他拚了命杀那非利士人，并且耶和华为全以色列大施拯救。那时你看见，也很欢喜，现在为何要犯罪，流无辜人的血，无缘无故杀大卫呢？”

他冒着生命的危险击杀了那非利士人，耶和华为以色列人施行了大拯救，那时你看见了，也很欢喜。现在你为什么要犯罪，无缘无故杀死大卫，流无辜人的血呢？”

昔冒死不顧、殺非利士人、耶和華大援以色列族、爾見此甚喜、今何擊之、欲殺無辜。

昔冒死不顧、殺非利士人、主藉之使以色列人獲大勝、王見此甚喜、今何欲無故殺大衛而獲殺無辜之罪乎、

He took his life in his hands when he killed the Philistine. The Lord won a great victory for all Israel, and you saw it and were glad. Why then would you do wrong to an innocent man like David by killing him for no reason?”

He put his own life in danger when he killed Goliath. The Lord used him to win a great battle for the whole nation of Israel. When you saw it, you were glad. So why would you do anything to harm a man like David? He isn’t guilty of doing anything to harm you. Why would you want to kill him without any reason?”

For he took his life in his hand and he struck down the Philistine, and the Lord worked a great salvation for all Israel. You saw it, and rejoiced. Why then will you sin against innocent blood by killing David without cause?”

Have you forgotten about the time he risked his life to kill the Philistine giant and how the Lord brought a great victory to all Israel as a result? You were certainly happy about it then. Why should you murder an innocent man like David? There is no reason for it at all!”

掃羅說：『今天一個人也不可被處死，因為今天永恆主在以色列中施行了拯救。』

這勇士卻在那份田地中間站穩着腳跟，救護了那田，擊殺了非利士人；於是永恆主以大勝利施行了拯救。

約拿單回答他父親掃羅說：『他為甚麼必須死？他作了甚麼？』

說：『我把無辜人送官處死，我有罪了。』他們說：『那與我們何干？你自理吧！』

我父從前為你們爭戰，拋棄性命於不顧，援救了你們脫離米甸人的手；

那女人到掃羅面前，見他非常驚惶，就對他說：『你看，婢女聽你的話，冒險拚命，聽你對我所說的話。

我不斷地冒險拚命；你的律法我卻沒有忘記。

我見你們沒有拯救我，我就冒險拚命，過去攻擊亞捫人；永恆主居然將他們交在我手掌中；你們今日為甚麼上我這裏來攻打我呢？』

但我不為性命作甚麼計算，而看為對自己有價值；比較起來，倒不如完盡了我的跑程、和我從主耶穌所領受的執事職任，鄭重證明上帝恩惠之福音。

因為他為了基督的工作、曾至於與死相近，冒着性命之險，以彌補你們在供奉我的事上所虧缺的。

無緣無故恨我的、比我的頭髮還多；施欺詐與我為仇的、比我的骨頭強盛；我沒有搶奪的、難道我必須償還麼？

彼拉多見無濟於事，反會生亂，就拿水當羣眾面前洗手說：『這人流血而死，我全無辜；你們自理吧。』

不過，這是要應驗他們律法書上所寫的話說：「他們無緣無故地恨我」。

不過你們要確實知道，你們若把我治死，就必使無辜人的血歸到你們和這城、以及它的居民，因為永恆主實在差遣了我到你們中間來，將這一切話傳到你們耳中。』

人民對掃羅說：『難道約拿單這位在以色列中施行這麼大的拯救的、必須死麼？絕對不可。我們指着永活的永恆主來起誓，連他一根頭髮也不可落地，因為他今天和上帝一同作事。』這樣；人民就贖救了約拿單免致死亡。

免得無辜之血流在永恆主你的上帝所賜給你為業之地，以致流人血的罪竟歸於你。『但若有人恨他的鄰舍，埋伏等着他，起來打他，擊打了他，以致他斃命死去；那殺人的若逃到一座這樣的城，他本城的長老就要打發人從那裏將他拿來，交在報血仇者手中，他就必須死。你的眼不可顧惜他，你可要把流無辜血的罪從以色列中肅清，好使你平安順遂。

大衛伸手到口袋中，從那裏拿出一塊石子來，用機弦甩去，正擊中了那非利士人的額上；石子沉進額內，那人就仆倒，臉伏於地。這樣、大衛強過那非利士人、是用甩機弦和石子；大衛擊中了那非利士人、而殺死他，手中並沒有刀。大衛跑去、站在那非利士人旁邊，將他的刀拔出鞘來，殺死他，用刀割了他的頭。非利士眾人看見他們的勇士死了，就都逃跑。以色列人和猶大人便起身，吶喊，追趕非利士人、直到迦特和以革倫的城門；被刺死傷的人都倒在路上，從沙拉音直到迦特和以革倫。以色列人火急地追趕非利士人回來，就搶掠了他們的軍營。

摩西對人民說：『不要懼怕，只管站住，看永恆主今天向你們所要施行的拯救；因為你們今天所看見的埃及人，你們再也永遠看不見了。

那麼我們若輕忽了這麼大的拯救，怎能逃罪呢？因為這拯救是起初由主親自宣講，而被聽見的人向我們證為確定，

凡等候你的總不至於失望；失望的只是行詭詐而失敗的人。
