Jonathan spoke well of David to Saul his father and said to him,“ Let not the king do wrong to his servant David; he has not wronged you, and what he has done has benefited you greatly.

And Jonathan spoke well of David to Saul his father and said to him,“ Let not the king sin against his servant David, because he has not sinned against you, and because his deeds have brought good to you.

The next morning Jonathan spoke with his father about David, saying many good things about him.“ The king must not sin against his servant David,” Jonathan said.“ He’s never done anything to harm you. He has always helped you in any way he could.

Jonathan spoke well of David to his father, Saul. He said to him,“ The king should not sin against his servant David. He hasn’t sinned against you; in fact, his actions have been a great advantage to you.

Then Jonathan spoke well of David to his father Saul and said to him,“ May the king not sin against his servant David, since he has not sinned against you, and since his deeds have been very beneficial to you.

Jonathan spoke good of David to Saul his father, and said to him,“ Don’t let the king sin against his servant, against David; because he has not sinned against you, and because his works have been very good toward you;

難道壞行為可以報善行，以致他們挖坑要害我的性命麼？求你記起我怎樣站在你面前為他們說好話，要使你的烈怒轉消、不降於他們。

如便回答他們說：『我不是對你們說過麼？我說：「不要得罪那孩子」，你們卻不肯聽；看哪，流他血的罪正向我們追討呢！』

約拿單回答他父親掃羅說：『他為甚麼必須死？他作了甚麼？』

你要為啞巴開口，為一切行將過去的人辦案件；要開口，按公義來判斷，為困苦貧窮的人伸訴。

以惡報善的、惡報總不離他的家。

他們跟我作對頭來報我的愛；但我呢，我只是禱告。他們對我、是以惡報善，以恨報愛的。

他們以惡待善地報我，使我喪失兒子。

亞希米勒回答王說：『在王的眾臣僕中有誰像大衛那麼忠信可靠呢？他是王的女婿，又是王的衛隊長，在王的家中又是受尊重的。

『使人流血的、人也必使他流血；因為上帝造人、是按上帝自己的形像造的。

人若得罪了人，有上帝作仲裁；人若得罪了永恆主，誰能為他祈禱呢？』他們竟不聽他們父親的話，因為永恆主有意思要殺死他們。

你們這樣犯罪害了弟兄、擊傷了他們的良知、便是犯罪敵對着基督了。

『人若得罪了鄰舍，有人叫他用一種咒語來起誓，他來到這殿，在你祭壇前起誓；

被拉到死地的、你要援救；東倒西歪而走向屠宰場的、你不可不攔阻。你若說：『啊，我不知道這事』，那麼、那衡量人心的、他豈不明白麼？那看管你性命的、他豈不知道麼？他豈不按各人所行的來報應各人麼？

凡恨弟兄的、就是殺人的：你們知道凡殺人的、沒有永生存在他裏面。
