The next day an evil spirit from God came forcefully on Saul. He was prophesying in his house, while David was playing the lyre, as he usually did. Saul had a spear in his hand

The next day an evil spirit sent by God came powerfully on Saul. Saul began to prophesy in his house. At that same time David began to play the harp, just as he usually did. Saul was holding a spear.

The next day a harmful spirit from God rushed upon Saul, and he raved within his house while David was playing the lyre, as he did day by day. Saul had his spear in his hand.

The very next day a tormenting spirit from God overwhelmed Saul, and he began to rave in his house like a madman. David was playing the harp, as he did each day. But Saul had a spear in his hand,

The next day an evil spirit sent from God came powerfully on Saul, and he began to rave inside the palace. David was playing the lyre as usual, but Saul was holding a spear,

Now it came about on the next day that an evil spirit from God rushed upon Saul, and he raved in the midst of the house while David was playing the harp with his hand, as usual; and a spear was in Saul’s hand.

And it happened on the next day that the distressing spirit from God came upon Saul, and he prophesied inside the house. So David played music with his hand, as at other times; but there was a spear in Saul’s hand.

And it came to pass on the morrow, that an evil spirit from God came mightily upon Saul, and he prophesied in the midst of the house: and David played with his hand, as he did day by day. And Saul had his spear in his hand;

從耶和華那裡來的禍害之靈又臨到掃羅，那時他坐在宮殿裡，手裡拿著長矛，而大衛正在手彈豎琴。

有一次，我們往禱告的地方去，迎面來了一個有占卜邪靈附身的女僕。她用算命為她的主人們帶來大量的生意。

每當從神那裡來的禍害之靈臨到掃羅時，大衛都會拿起豎琴用手彈奏，掃羅就會心裡寬暢、感覺舒服，那個靈也從他身上離開了。

為此，神就把一種迷惑人的力量送進他們裡面，使他們相信虛假之事，

現在，求我主我王聽你僕人的話：如果是耶和華激動你攻擊我，願耶和華悅納供物；如果是出於人，就願他們在耶和華面前受詛咒！因為今日他們驅逐我，不讓我在耶和華的繼業上有份，說：『去服事別的神吧！』

耶和華的靈離開了掃羅，就有禍害之靈從耶和華那裡來驚擾他。掃羅的臣僕們對他說：「看哪，是從神那裡來的禍害之靈在驚擾你。請我們的主吩咐面前的臣僕們，去尋找一個善於彈奏豎琴的人。當從神那裡來的禍害之靈臨到你身上時，這人用手彈琴，你就感覺舒服了。」

掃羅就從那裡往拉瑪的納約特去。神的靈也臨到他，他一邊走一邊說預言，一直來到拉瑪的納約特。他脫下衣服，也在撒母耳面前說預言，整日整夜赤身躺臥。因此人們說：「難道掃羅也算在先知中嗎？」

到那日，我必從這地剪除偶像的名號，它們就不再被人記念；我也必從這地除去假先知，除去汙穢的靈。如果有人還說預言，他的親生父母就必對他說：『你不得存活，因為你奉耶和華的名說虛假的話。』當他說預言的時候，他的親生父母必把他刺死。到那日，每個假先知說預言的時候，都必因自己的異象而蒙羞，也不再穿毛皮衣哄騙人；他會說：『我不是先知，我是種地的，因為在我年幼時，就被人賣為奴。』
