是以爾宜服於上帝、惟禦魔、魔則遁、

堅門徒心、勸之恆居於道、言我儕入上帝國必歷多艱、

衣上帝全備鎧甲、克禦魔之詭譎、蓋我儕所與戰者、非血氣之人、乃執政者、掌權者、及此暗世諸君、並天際惡靈、當取上帝全備鎧甲、俾能守禦於艱難之日、迨諸事既成而卓然、

凡欲宗基督耶穌敬虔度生者、必受窘逐、

爾之見召、因基督為爾受苦、遺法於爾、使踐其迹、

爾所遇之試、無非人之可忍者、上帝誠信、不忍爾遇試過爾所能、必於其中闢途、使能勝之、○

若因義受苦、則福矣、勿畏其威、勿為所撼、

其人以信而服諸國、行公義、得應許、箝獅口、

俾無人為諸苦所搖、蓋爾自知分定於此也、

又取信以為盾、能悉滅惡者之火箭、

當為道而戰善戰、執乎永生、即爾為之奉召、於眾證者前承其善承也、

蓋我身雖暌違、心則偕爾、喜見爾篤信基督、秩然有序、○

爾於此則喜甚、但今或須受諸試而暫憂、

我以此語爾、俾爾於我而安、爾在世有難、然當毅然、我已勝世矣、

對曰、我主乎、爾自知之、曰、此乃出乎大難而來、曾以羔之血滌其衣而白之矣、

爾既與基督之苦、當以為樂、俾於其榮顯著時、亦可歡欣踴躍、

勿與魔以間、

我已戰善戰、盡程途、守主道、

魔謂之曰、爾若上帝子、可命此石為餅、耶穌曰、記有之、人之生不第恃食、魔引之上升、瞬息間、以世上諸國示之、曰、此諸權及榮、我將予爾、蓋此已付我、所欲予者則予之、爾若拜我、悉為爾有、耶穌曰、記有之、當拜主爾之上帝、而獨事之、又導至耶路撒冷、置諸殿頂、曰、爾若上帝子、可自茲投下、蓋記有之、彼將命其使護爾、又云、其使必以手扶爾、免足觸石、耶穌曰、有云、勿試主爾之上帝、

猶太人殺主耶穌及諸先知、又窘逐我儕、不悅於上帝、且敵眾人、禁我儕語異邦人、使之得救、常盈厥罪、而震怒盡臨之矣、○

我約翰、爾曹之兄弟、與爾共與耶穌之難與國與忍者、為上帝之道及耶穌之證、昔在一島曰拔摩、

然我為爾祈、使爾信無闕、迨爾反正後、堅爾兄弟也、

遂各予之白衣、且語之、使少安、待同僕與兄弟亦將如彼見殺者、畢乃事焉、○
