“我，我耶和華是安慰你們的；你是誰，竟怕那會死的人，怕那被造如草的世人呢？你忘記了造你的耶和華，就是那展開諸天，奠定大地的根基的；又因那欺壓者準備行毀滅的時候所發的烈怒，你就終日不住懼怕呢？其實那欺壓者的烈怒在哪裡呢？

彼得卻當眾否認，說：“我不知道你說甚麼。”他出到門口，又有一個婢女看見他，就對那裡的人說：“這人是和拿撒勒人耶穌一夥的。”彼得再次否認，並且發誓說：“我不認識那個人。”過了一會，站在那裡的人前來對他說：“你的確是他們中間的一個，因為一聽你的口音就認出來了。”彼得就發咒起誓說：“我不認識那一個人。”立刻雞就叫了。

亞瑪謝對阿摩司說：“你這個先見，走吧！滾回猶大地去；在那裡你可以找食，在那裡你可以說預言。但不要再在伯特利說預言，因為這裡是王的聖所，是王國的聖殿。”

法老聽見這事，就設法要殺摩西；摩西躲避法老，就往米甸地去居住；有一天他坐在井旁。
