Even after this, Jeroboam did not change his evil ways, but once more appointed priests for the high places from all sorts of people. Anyone who wanted to become a priest he consecrated for the high places.

耶羅波安為丘壇，為山羊鬼魔，為自己所造的牛犢設立祭司。

你們不是驅逐耶和華的祭司亞倫的後裔和利未人嗎？不是照着外邦人的惡俗為自己立祭司嗎？無論何人牽一頭公牛犢、七隻公綿羊將自己分別出來，就可作虛無神明的祭司。

只是作惡的和騙人的將變本加厲，迷惑人也被人迷惑。

帳幕將往前行的時候，利未人要拆卸；將駐紮的時候，利未人要支搭帳幕。近前來的外人必被處死。

他殺他們的時候，他們才求問他，回心轉意，切切尋求神。

耶羅波安在一些丘壇建神殿，立不屬利未人的平民百姓為祭司。耶羅波安定八月十五日為節期，像在猶大的節期一樣，自己上壇獻祭。他在伯特利這樣做，向他所鑄的牛犢獻祭，又把他所立丘壇的祭司安置在伯特利。他在八月十五日，就是他自己心中所定的月份，在伯特利上到自己所造的祭壇；他為以色列人定了一個節期，親自上壇燒香。

米迦授這年輕的利未人祭司的職任，他就住在米迦的家裏。

以色列人對摩西說：「看哪，我們死啦！我們滅亡啦！我們全都滅亡啦！凡挨近耶和華帳幕的，就必死亡。我們都要消滅而死嗎？」

要把這些給你哥哥亞倫和他的兒子穿戴，又要膏他們，授予聖職，使他們分別為聖，作事奉我的祭司。

看哪，耶和華發命令，把大房子拆成碎片，小屋子裂為小塊。

我所揀選的人，他的杖必發芽。我就平息了以色列人向你們所發的怨言，不再達到我這裏。」

你要指派亞倫和他的兒子謹守祭司的職分；近前來的外人必被處死。」

陶匠用泥做的器皿在他手中做壞了，他就用它另做別的器皿，照他看為好的去做。
