此亦天主制伏萬物於基督足下之真義也。雖謂萬物皆受其制、然制之者、固未始受其制也。

因为经上说：“神叫万物都服在他的脚下。”既说万物都服了他，明显那叫万物服他的，不在其内了。

因为经上说：“上帝使万物都服在他的脚下。”既然说万物都服了他，那使万物屈服的，很明显地是不在其内了。

因为经上说：“神使万物都服在他的脚下。”既然说万物都服了他，那使万物屈服的，很明显地是不在其内了。

因为圣经上说：“上帝使万物降服在祂脚下。”当然，这里说的“万物都降服祂”不包括使万物降服祂的上帝。

因为经上记着说：“他使万物都服在他脚下。”既然说万物都服了他，显然那使万物服他的就不包括在内了。

因为“神使万有都服从在基督的脚下。”当经上说“万有”都已经服从了他的时候，明显地，使万有服从基督的那一位是不包括在内的。

因為經上說：『上帝叫萬物都順服在他腳下』。既說萬物都順服了，那麼那叫萬物順服他、的上帝便明明不在其內了。

因為「神使萬有都服從在基督的腳下。」當經上說「萬有」都已經服從了他的時候，明顯地，使萬有服從基督的那一位是不包括在內的。

夫上帝服萬有於其足下、既曰服萬有、則服萬有者、不在其中也明矣、

蓋萬物必服基督足下、雖云萬物服之、而服萬物者、不在其中、明矣、

蓋天主使萬物服其足下、其云使萬物服之、則使萬物服之者、不在其中明矣、

For he“ has put everything under his feet.” Now when it says that“ everything” has been put under him, it is clear that this does not include God himself, who put everything under Christ.

Scripture says that God“ has put everything under his control.”( Psalm 8:6) It says that“ everything” has been put under him. But it is clear that this does not include God himself. That’s because God put everything under Christ.

For“ God has put all things in subjection under his feet.” But when it says,“ all things are put in subjection,” it is plain that he is excepted who put all things in subjection under him.

For the Scriptures say,“ God has put all things under his authority.”( Of course, when it says“ all things are under his authority,” that does not include God himself, who gave Christ his authority.)

For God has put everything under his feet. Now when it says“ everything” is put under him, it is obvious that he who puts everything under him is the exception.

For He has put all things in subjection under His feet. But when He says,“ All things are put in subjection,” it is clear that this excludes the Father who put all things in subjection to Him.

For“ He has put all things under His feet.” But when He says“ all things are put under Him,” it is evident that He who put all things under Him is excepted.

For, He put all things in subjection under his feet. But when he saith, All things are put in subjection, it is evident that he is excepted who did subject all things unto him.

For God has put everything under His feet. But when it says“ everything” is put under Him, it is obvious that He who puts everything under Him is the exception.

For he hath put all things under his feet. But when he saith all things are put under[ him, it is] manifest that he is excepted, which did put all things under him.

For he has put everything in subjection under his feet. But when it says“ everything” has been put in subjection, it is clear that this does not include the one who put everything in subjection to him.

For,“ He put all things in subjection under his feet.” But when he says,“ All things are put in subjection”, it is evident that he is excepted who subjected all things to him.

耶穌進前曰：『天上地下一切諸權、已賦於我。

使為萬物靈。天神相頡頏。皆自土中生。冠冕獨堂堂。

統轄受造物、樂此無盡藏。』是知天主已將天地萬有、交其掌管、而絕無例外也。惟此事至今尚未實現；

吾父已將一切付諸於我矣。知子惟父、知父惟子、及蒙子啟牖之人。

置天地萬物於其足下、立之為全教會至高無上之元首、

基督今已昇天、位於天主右、一切天神及權德諸品、莫不翕然順服、統於一尊。

且天主亦何嘗謂一天神曰：『坐我之右、待我克爾之敵、以供爾之踐踏』乎？

因是天主亦舉之於萬有之上、鍚以聖名、舉世無匹、萬古流芳、使天上人間乃至地下一切生靈、莫不聞其名而屈膝、眾口同聲、咸稱耶穌基督為主、而歸榮於天主聖父焉。

耶穌心知聖父已將萬有付於己手、亦知己之來自天主、而歸於天主也、

蓋此神力、天主實已先施於基督之身、起之於死中、升之於諸天、位之於己右、

永生不變；死於一時、而生於永古；掌握死亡及地獄之管籥者。

惟基督之獻身贖罪、則一勞永逸、而坐於天主之右、

聖父篤愛聖子、已將一切授諸其手矣。
