If I have the gift of prophecy and know all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith so as to remove mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing.

雖能預言、洞悉諸奧諸智、且篤信足以移山、若無愛、則我為烏有、

雖能先知、探奧、識理、且篤信得以移山、而無仁、則無益、

雖有先知之明、能探諸奧妙、得諸知識、信德俱備、能以移山、若無愛、則無益、

使我無愛德、而具先知之靈賦、心通一切玄妙、一切知識、甚至有移山之信、則亦浮華無實耳。

If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing.

Suppose I have the gift of prophecy. Suppose I can understand all the secret things of God and know everything about him. And suppose I have enough faith to move mountains. If I don’t have love, I am nothing at all.

And if I have prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.

If I had the gift of prophecy, and if I understood all of God’s secret plans and possessed all knowledge, and if I had such faith that I could move mountains, but didn’t love others, I would be nothing.

If I have the gift of prophecy and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith so that I can move mountains but do not have love, I am nothing.

The one who does not love does not know God, because God is love.

And He* said to them,“ Because of your meager faith; for truly I say to you, if you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain,‘ Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.”

And if I give away all my possessions to charity, and if I surrender my body so that I may glory, but do not have love, it does me no good.

And Jesus answered and said to them,“ Truly I say to you, if you have faith and do not doubt, you will not only do what was done to the fig tree, but even if you say to this mountain,‘ Be taken up and cast into the sea,’ it will happen.

If I speak with the tongues of mankind and of angels, but do not have love, I have become a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal.

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,

If anyone does not love the Lord, he is to be accursed. Maranatha!

By referring to this, when you read you can understand my insight into the mystery of Christ,

and pray in my behalf, that speech may be given to me in the opening of my mouth, to make known with boldness the mystery of the gospel,

Beyond question, great is the mystery of godliness: He who was revealed in the flesh, Was vindicated in the Spirit, Seen by angels, Proclaimed among the nations, Believed on in the world, Taken up in glory.

If someone says,“ I love God,” and yet he hates his brother or sister, he is a liar; for the one who does not love his brother and sister whom he has seen, cannot love God, whom he has not seen.And this commandment we have from Him, that the one who loves God must also love his brother and sister.

But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not carry out the desire of the flesh.

For to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, and to another the word of knowledge according to the same Spirit;to another faith by the same Spirit, and to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit,and to another the effecting of miracles, and to another prophecy, and to another the distinguishing of spirits, to another various kinds of tongues, and to another the interpretation of tongues.

And seeing a lone fig tree by the road, He came to it and found nothing on it except leaves alone; and He* said to it,“ No longer shall there ever be any fruit from you.” And at once the fig tree withered.

Pursue love, yet earnestly desire spiritual gifts, but especially that you may prophesy.For the one who speaks in a tongue does not speak to people, but to God; for no one understands, but in his spirit he speaks mysteries.

Now to Him who is able to establish you according to my gospel and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery which has been kept secret for long ages past,

For if anyone thinks that he is something when he is nothing, he deceives himself.

For I do not want you, brothers and sisters, to be uninformed of this mystery— so that you will not be wise in your own estimation— that a partial hardening has happened to Israel until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in;

And God has appointed in the church, first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, administrations, and various kinds of tongues.

that is, the mystery which had been hidden from the past ages and generations, but now has been revealed to His saints,

And Jesus answered them,“ To you it has been granted to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it has not been granted.

Circumcision is nothing, and uncircumcision is nothing, but what matters is the keeping of the commandments of God.

The apostles said to the Lord,“ Increase our faith!”But the Lord said,“ If you had faith the size of a mustard seed, you could say to this mulberry tree,‘ Be uprooted and be planted in the sea’; and it would obey you.

But now, brothers and sisters, if I come to you speaking in tongues, how will I benefit you unless I speak to you either by way of revelation, or of knowledge, or of prophecy, or of teaching?Yet even lifeless instruments, whether flute or harp, in producing a sound, if they do not produce a distinction in the tones, how will it be known what is played on the flute or on the harp?For if the trumpet produces an indistinct sound, who will prepare himself for battle?So you too, unless you produce intelligible speech by the tongue, how will it be known what is spoken? For you will just be talking to the air.

And Jesus answered and* said to them,“ Have faith in God.Truly I say to you, whoever says to this mountain,‘ Be taken up and thrown into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says is going to happen, it will be granted to him.

Therefore, concerning the eating of food sacrificed to idols, we know that an idol is nothing at all in the world, and that there is no God but one.

Many will say to Me on that day,‘ Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles?’And then I will declare to them,‘ I never knew you; leave Me, you who practice lawlessness.’

Then he took up his discourse and said,“ The declaration of Balaam the son of Beor, And the declaration of the man whose eye is opened,The declaration of him who hears the words of God, And knows the knowledge of the Most High, Who sees the vision of the Almighty, Falling down, yet having his eyes uncovered:I see him, but not now; I look at him, but not near; A star shall appear from Jacob, A scepter shall rise from Israel, And shall smash the forehead of Moab, And overcome all the sons of Sheth.And Edom shall be a possession, Seir, its enemies, also will be a possession, While Israel performs valiantly.One from Jacob shall rule, And will eliminate the survivors from the city.”And he looked at Amalek and took up his discourse and said,“ Amalek was the first of the nations, But his end shall be destruction.”And he looked at the Kenite, and took up his discourse and said,“ Your dwelling place is enduring, And your nest is set in the cliff.Nevertheless Kain will suffer devastation; How long will Asshur keep you captive?”Then he took up his discourse and said,“ Oh, who can live unless God has ordained it?But ships shall come from the coast of Kittim, And they shall oppress Asshur and oppress Eber; So they also will come to destruction.”

This is the way any person is to regard us: as servants of Christ and stewards of the mysteries of God.

Therefore, my brothers and sisters, earnestly desire to prophesy, and do not forbid speaking in tongues.

I have become foolish; you yourselves compelled me. Actually I should have been commended by you, since I was in no respect inferior to the most eminent apostles, even though I am a nobody.
