吾人當初若能善自檢點、則亦何至如此受罪。

But if we were more discerning with regard to ourselves, we would not come under such judgment.

We should think more carefully about what we are doing. Then we would not be found guilty for this.

But if we judged ourselves truly, we would not be judged.

But if we would examine ourselves, we would not be judged by God in this way.

If we were properly judging ourselves, we would not be judged,

But if we judged ourselves rightly, we would not be judged.

For if we would judge ourselves, we would not be judged.

But if we discerned ourselves, we should not be judged.

If we were properly evaluating ourselves, we would not be judged,

For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged.

For if we discerned ourselves, we wouldn’t be judged.

When I refused to confess my sin, my whole body wasted away, while I groaned in pain all day long.For day and night you tormented me; you tried to destroy me in the intense heat of summer.( Selah)Then I confessed my sin; I no longer covered up my wrongdoing. I said,“ I will confess my rebellious acts to the LORD.” And then you forgave my sins.( Selah)

Therefore, remember from what high state you have fallen and repent! Do the deeds you did at the first; if not, I will come to you and remove your lampstand from its place– that is, if you do not repent.

Wake up then, and strengthen what remains that was about to die, because I have not found your deeds complete in the sight of my God.Therefore, remember what you received and heard, and obey it, and repent. If you do not wake up, I will come like a thief, and you will never know at what hour I will come against you.

A person should examine himself first, and in this way let him eat the bread and drink of the cup.

I will get up and go to my father and say to him,“ Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you.I am no longer worthy to be called your son; treat me like one of your hired workers.”’So he got up and went to his father. We are ashamed and humiliated because of the disgraceful things we did previously.’Indeed, the people of Israel are my dear children. They are the children I take delight in. For even though I must often rebuke them, I still remember them with fondness. So I am deeply moved with pity for them and will surely have compassion on them. I, the LORD, affirm it!
