因十字架之道、在彼淪亡者視為愚、惟在我儕得救者、則視為天主之大能、

未感於神者、原文作屬血氣者不受天主之神之事、因以之為愚、且不能識、蓋此事必以神而忖度、

及種種惑眾之邪惡、在將沈淪者之中、蓋彼眾不悅真理、且不受之而得救、

我不以基督福音為恥、因此福音、乃天主之大能以救諸信者、先猶太人、後希拉人、

若我之福音不明、惟為沈淪者不明、

惟我儕宣釘十字架之基督、猶太人視為礙、礙或作可厭希拉人視為愚、惟蒙召者、無論猶太人、希拉人、皆以基督為天主之大能、天主之智慧、蓋天主之道、人所視為愚者、亦智於人、天主之道、人所視為弱者、亦強於人、

蓋我定意、於爾中他無所知、惟知耶穌基督、並其釘十字架、

世既以智不識天主、則天主喜以宣道之愚、救諸信者、此乃天主之智也、

蓋我儕於天主前、為基督之馨香、於得救者、亦於沈淪者、於此為死之臭以致死、於彼為生之臭以致生、誰堪任此乎、

蓋天主之言、活潑有力、較兩刃之劍尤利、神氣與骨髓、無不剖入、心之意念、無不鑒察、

欲以外貌儀文自榮者、強爾受割禮、特恐為基督之十字架、被人窘逐也、彼受割禮、而不守律法、欲爾守割禮、致彼因爾之外貌儀文、有所可誇、但我所誇者無他、惟誇我主耶穌基督之十字架、我賴之、世向我已釘十字架、我向世亦然、

蓋我儕之戰具、非屬血氣、乃賴天主、有力能破諸堅壘、

我儕傳福音在爾中、不第以言、乃以能、以聖神、以堅確之信、爾亦知我儕於爾中為爾如何而行、

有屬以彼古羅門與司多亞門之博士數人、亦與辯論、有曰、此妄談者欲何言、有曰、彼似宣傳他邦之鬼神者、蓋保羅向彼傳耶穌及復活之道也、

主使爾權從郇而行、爾在敵中執掌權衡、爾行軍之日、爾之民飾以聖裝、樂心相從、爾之壯丁多於黎明之露、

爾若守我所傳爾者、且爾信不虛、則必以此福音得救矣、

蓋此世之智、在天主前為愚、如經載云、主令智者自中其詭計、

眾聞死者復活之言、有笑之者、有曰、我儕願再聞爾說此、

其言曰、藐忽者乎、爾視之而驚駭滅亡、因爾在時、我將行一事、雖有人告爾、爾亦不信也、○

讚美天主、並見悅於眾民、主以得救之人、日增其教會、
