186:1 See Ps. 31:2Incline your ear, O Lord, and answer me,

for I am 86:1 Ps. 40:17poor and needy.

2Preserve my life, for I am 86:2 See Ps. 50:5godly;

save your servant, who 86:2 See Ps. 11:1trusts in you—you are my God.

for to you do I cry all the day.

4Gladden the soul of your servant,

for 86:4 See Ps. 25:1to you, O Lord, do I lift up my soul.

12I give thanks to you, O Lord my God, with my whole heart,

and I will glorify your name forever.

1386:13 [ver. 5] For great is your steadfast love toward me;

you have 86:13 Ps. 30:3; [Ps. 88:6; Ezek. 26:20]delivered my soul from the depths of Sheol.

14O God, insolent men have 86:14 Ps. 54:3risen up against me;

a band of ruthless men seeks my life,

and they do not set you before them.

15But you, O Lord, are a God 86:15 ver. 5; Ps. 111:4; 112:4; Num. 14:18; Neh. 9:17; Jonah 4:2; See Ps. 62:12merciful and gracious,

slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness.
