How Awesome Are Your Deeds
To the choirmaster. A Song. A Psalm.

166:1 Ps. 81:1; 95:1; 98:4; 100:1Shout for joy to God, all the earth;
2sing the glory of his name;
66:2 [Josh. 7:19; Isa. 42:12]give to him glorious praise!
3Say to God, 66:3 See Ps. 65:5“How awesome are your deeds!
So great is your power that your enemies 66:3 See Ps. 18:44come cringing to you.
466:4 See Ps. 22:27All the earth worships you
and sings praises to you;
they sing praises to your name.” Selah

566:5 ver. 16; Ps. 46:8Come and see what God has done:
66:5 [See ver. 3above]he is awesome in his deeds toward the children of man.
6He 66:6 [Ex. 14:21] turned the sea into dry land;
they 66:6 Ps. 74:15; See Josh. 3:14-17passed through the river on foot.
There did we rejoice in him,
7who rules by his might forever,
whose 66:7 See Ps. 11:4eyes keep watch on the nations—
let not the rebellious exalt themselves. Selah

8Bless our God, O peoples;
let the sound of his praise be heard,
9who has kept our soul among the living
and 66:9 See Ps. 121:3has not let our feet slip.
10For you, O God, have 66:10 See Job 23:10tested us;
you have tried us as silver is tried.
11You brought us into 66:11 Lam. 1:13; Ezek. 12:13the net;
you laid a crushing burden on our backs;
12you let men 66:12 Isa. 51:23ride over our heads;
we went through fire and through 66:12 Isa. 43:2water;
yet you have brought us out to a place of abundance.

13I will come into your house with burnt offerings;
I will 66:13 See Ps. 50:14perform my vows to you,
14that which my lips uttered
and my mouth promised 66:14 See Ps. 18:6when I was in trouble.
15I will offer to you burnt offerings of fattened animals,
with the smoke of the sacrifice of rams;
I will make an offering of bulls and goats. Selah

1666:16 ver. 5; Ps. 34:11Come and hear, all you who fear God,
and I will tell what he has done for my soul.
17I cried to him with my mouth,
and high praise was on66:17 Hebrew under my tongue.66:17 Or and he was exalted with my tongue
18If I had 66:18 Job 36:21cherished iniquity in my heart,
66:18 [Prov. 28:9; Isa. 59:2; John 9:31; James 4:3; See Job 27:9]the Lord would not have listened.
19But truly 66:19 Ps. 116:1, 2God has listened;
he has attended to the voice of my prayer.

20Blessed be God,
because he has not rejected my prayer
or removed his steadfast love from me!
