Matthew 第22章
The Parable of the Wedding Feast
222:2 For ver. 2-14, [Luke 14:16-24] “The kingdom of heaven may be compared to a king who gave 22:2 See Rev. 19:7a wedding feast for his son,
3and 22:3 [Esth. 6:14; Prov. 9:3, 5]sent his servants22:3 Or bondservants; also verses 4, 6, 8, 10to call those who were invited to the wedding feast, but they would not come.
422:4 ch. 21:36Again he sent other servants, saying, ‘Tell those who are invited, “See, I have prepared my 22:4 Luke 11:38; John 21:12, 15 (Gk.) dinner, 22:4 Prov. 9:2my oxen and my fat calves have been slaughtered, and everything is ready. Come to the wedding feast.”’
6while the rest seized his servants, 22:6 Luke 18:32; Acts 14:5; 1 Thess. 2:2treated them shamefully, and 22:6 See ch. 21:35killed them.
7The king was angry, and he sent his troops and 22:7 ch. 21:41; Luke 19:27destroyed those murderers and burned their city.
8Then he said to his servants, ‘The wedding feast is ready, but those invited were not 22:8 ch. 10:11; Acts 13:46; Rev. 3:4; [Luke 20:35]worthy.
9Go therefore to the main roads and invite to the wedding feast as many as you find.’
11“But when the king came in to look at the guests, he saw there 22:11 [Rev. 19:8; 22:14]a man who had no wedding garment.
12And he said to him, 22:12 ch. 20:13; 26:50‘Friend, how did you get in here without a wedding garment?’ And he was speechless.
Paying Taxes to Caesar
1522:15 For ver. 15-32, see Mark 12:13-27; Luke 20:20-38Then the Pharisees went and plotted how 22:15 [Luke 11:54]to entangle him in his words.
16And they sent 22:16 Mark 2:18their disciples to him, along with 22:16 Mark 3:6; [Mark 8:15] the Herodians, saying, “Teacher, 22:16 [John 3:2] we know that you are true and teach 22:16 Acts 18:26; [Acts 13:10] the way of God truthfully, and you do not care about anyone’s opinion, for 22:16 See Acts 10:34you are not swayed by appearances.22:16 Greek for you do not look at people’s faces
17Tell us, then, what you think. Is it lawful to pay 22:17 ch. 17:25taxes to 22:17 Luke 2:1; 3:1Caesar, or not?”
18But Jesus, aware of their malice, said, “Why 22:18 See John 8:6put me to the test, you hypocrites?
19Show me the coin for the tax.” And they brought him a denarius.22:19 A denarius was a day’s wage for a laborer
20And Jesus said to them, “Whose likeness and inscription is this?”
21They said, “Caesar’s.” Then he said to them, 22:21 Rom. 13:7“Therefore render to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s.”
22When they heard it, they marveled. And they 22:22 Mark 12:12left him and went away.
Sadducees Ask About the Resurrection
23The same day 22:23 ver. 34; ch. 3:7; 16:1; Acts 4:1; 5:17; 23:6Sadducees came to him, 22:23 Acts 23:8; [Acts 4:2]who say that there is no resurrection, and they asked him a question,
24saying, “Teacher, Moses said, 22:24 [Deut. 25:5]‘If a man dies having no children, his brother must marry the widow and raise up offspring for his brother.’
25Now there were seven brothers among us. The first married and died, and having no offspring left his wife to his brother.
26So too the second and third, down to the seventh.
27After them all, the woman died.
28In the resurrection, therefore, of the seven, whose wife will she be? For they all had her.”
29But Jesus answered them, “You are wrong, 22:29 John 20:9because you know neither the Scriptures nor 22:29 1 Cor. 6:14the power of God.
30For in the resurrection they neither 22:30 ch. 24:38; Luke 17:27marry nor 22:30 ch. 24:38; Luke 17:27are given in marriage, but are like angels in heaven.
31And as for the resurrection of the dead, 22:31 See ch. 21:16have you not read what was said to you by God:
The Great Commandment
3422:34 For ver. 34-40, see Mark 12:28-33But when the Pharisees heard that he had silenced 22:34 ver. 23the Sadducees, they gathered together.
3522:35 [Luke 10:25-28] And one of them, 22:35 See Luke 7:30a lawyer, asked him a question 22:35 ver. 18to test him.
36“Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?”
37And he said to him, 22:37 Luke 10:27; Cited from Deut. 6:5“You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.
38This is the great and first commandment.
39And 22:39 [1 John 4:21] a second is like it: 22:39 Cited from Lev. 19:18; See ch. 19:19You shall love your neighbor as yourself.
Whose Son Is the Christ?
4122:41 For ver. 41-45, see Mark 12:35-37; Luke 20:41-44Now while the Pharisees 22:41 ver. 34were gathered together, Jesus asked them a question,
42saying, “What do you think about 22:42 See ch. 1:1, 17the Christ? Whose son is he?” They said to him, 22:42 See ch. 1:1, 17“The son of David.”
43He said to them, “How is it then that David, 22:43 Rev. 1:10; 4:2; [2 Sam. 23:2]in the Spirit, calls him Lord, saying,
4422:44 Acts 2:34, 35; Heb. 1:13; Cited from Ps. 110:1; [1 Cor. 15:25; Heb. 10:13]“‘The Lord said to my Lord,
“Sit at my right hand,
until I put your enemies under your feet”’?
4622:46 [Luke 14:6] And no one was able to answer him a word, 22:46 Mark 12:34; Luke 20:40nor from that day did anyone dare to ask him any more questions.
