Jeremiah 第49章
Judgment on Ammon
149:1 ch. 25:21; [Ezek. 21:28; 25:2] Concerning the Ammonites.
Thus says the Lord:
“Has Israel no sons?
Has he no heir?
Why then has 49:1 [1 Kgs. 11:5, 33; 2 Kgs. 23:13] Milcom49:1 Or their king; also verse 349:1 [Amos 1:13]dispossessed Gad,
and his people settled in its cities?
2Therefore, behold, the days are coming,
declares the Lord,
when I will cause 49:2 ch. 4:19the battle cry to be heard
against 49:2 Ezek. 21:20; 25:5; Amos 1:14Rabbah of the Ammonites;
it shall become a desolate 49:2 ch. 30:18mound,
and its villages shall be burned with fire;
then Israel shall dispossess those who dispossessed him,
says the Lord.
Cry out, O daughters of 49:3 [See ver. 2above] Rabbah!
lament, and run to and fro among the hedges!
For 49:3 [1 Kgs. 11:5, 33; 2 Kgs. 23:13] Milcom shall go into exile,
49:3 ch. 48:7with his priests and his officials.
4Why do you boast of your valleys,49:4 Hebrew boast of your valleys, your valley flows
49:4 ch. 3:14O faithless daughter,
49:4 ch. 48:7who trusted in her treasures, saying,
‘Who will come against me?’
declares the Lord God of hosts,
from all who are around you,
and you shall be driven out, every man straight before him,
with none to gather the fugitives.
Judgment on Edom
Thus says the Lord of hosts:
49:7 [Isa. 19:11, 12]Has counsel perished from the prudent?
49:7 [Isa. 19:11, 12]Has their wisdom vanished?
For I will bring the calamity of Esau upon him,
would they not leave 49:9 [Judg. 8:2]gleanings?
would they not destroy only enough for themselves?
49:10 [See ver. 9above] I have uncovered his hiding places,
and he is not able to conceal himself.
His children are destroyed, and his brothers,
and his neighbors; and 49:10 ch. 31:15; Isa. 17:14he is no more.
and an envoy has been sent among the nations:
49:14 [Isa. 13:4]“Gather yourselves together and come against her,
and rise up for battle!
15For behold, I will make you small among the nations,
despised among mankind.
16The horror you inspire has deceived you,
and the pride of your heart,
you who live in the clefts of the rock,49:16 Or of Sela
who hold the height of the hill.
Though you 49:16 [ch. 48:28]make your nest as high as the eagle’s,
I will bring you down from there,
declares the Lord.
1749:17 Ezek. 35:3, 7, 9“Edom shall become a horror. 49:17 [ch. 50:13]Everyone who passes by it will be horrified 49:17 [ch. 50:13]and will hiss because of all its disasters.
1849:18 See Isa. 13:19As when Sodom and Gomorrah and their 49:18 [Deut. 29:23] neighboring cities were overthrown, says the Lord, 49:18 ver. 33no man shall dwell there, 49:18 ver. 33no man shall sojourn in her.
1949:19 For ver. 19-21, see ch. 50:44-46Behold, 49:19 See ch. 4:7like a lion coming up from 49:19 See ch. 12:5the jungle of the Jordan against a perennial pasture, I will suddenly make him49:19 Septuagint, Syriac them run away from her. And I will appoint over her whomever I choose. 49:19 See ch. 10:6For who is like me? 49:19 Job 9:19Who will summon me? 49:19 [ch. 30:21]What shepherd can stand before me?
20Therefore hear the plan that the Lord has made against 49:20 Ezek. 35:3, 7, 9Edom and the purposes that he has formed against the inhabitants of 49:20 See ver. 7Teman: 49:20 ch. 50:45Even the little ones of the flock shall be dragged away. Surely their fold shall be appalled at their fate.
21At the sound of their fall 49:21 ch. 8:16; 50:46; [Ezek. 26:15]the earth shall tremble; the sound of their cry shall be heard at the Red Sea.
Judgment on Damascus
49:23 1 Kgs. 8:65; Zech. 9:2“Hamath and 49:23 2 Kgs. 18:34Arpad are confounded,
for they have heard bad news;
they melt in fear,
49:23 Zech. 9:4they are troubled like the sea that cannot be quiet.
and panic seized her;
anguish and sorrows have taken hold of her,
as 49:24 [See ver. 22above]of a woman in labor.
the city of my joy?
and all her soldiers shall be destroyed in that day,
declares the Lord of hosts.
and it shall devour the strongholds of 49:27 1 Kgs. 15:18; 20:1; 2 Kgs. 6:24; 8:7; 13:3Ben-hadad.”
Judgment on Kedar and Hazor
28Concerning 49:28 Isa. 21:16; 60:7Kedar and the kingdoms of Hazor that Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon struck down.
Thus says the Lord:
49:28 ver. 14, 31“Rise up, advance against 49:28 Isa. 21:16; 60:7Kedar!
Destroy 49:28 Isa. 11:14; Ezek. 25:4, 10; See Judg. 6:3the people of the east!
their camels shall be led away from them,
and men shall cry to them: 49:29 See ch. 6:25‘Terror on every side!’
O inhabitants of Hazor!
declares the Lord.
For Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon
has made a plan against you
and formed a purpose against you.
49:31 Ezek. 38:8, 11that dwells securely,
declares the Lord,
49:31 Ezek. 38:8, 11that has no gates or bars,
that dwells alone.
3249:32 [Ezek. 38:12] Their camels shall become plunder,
their herds of livestock a spoil.
49:32 ver. 36I will scatter to every wind
49:32 See ch. 9:26those who cut the corners of their hair,
and I will bring their calamity
from every side of them,
declares the Lord.
an everlasting waste;
49:33 ver. 18no man shall dwell there;
49:33 ver. 18no man shall sojourn in her.”
Judgment on Elam
34The word of the Lord that came to Jeremiah the prophet concerning 49:34 ch. 25:25; Gen. 14:1; Isa. 11:11; 21:2; Ezek. 32:24; Dan. 8:2Elam, in the beginning of the reign of 49:34 2 Kgs. 24:17, 18Zedekiah king of Judah.
35Thus says the Lord of hosts: “Behold, I will break 49:35 Isa. 22:6the bow of 49:35 [See ver. 34above]Elam, the mainstay of their might.
36And I will bring upon 49:36 [See ver. 34above]Elam the four winds from the four quarters of heaven. And I will scatter them to all those winds, and there shall be no nation to which those driven out of 49:36 [See ver. 34above]Elam shall not come.
