Jeremiah 第46章
Judgment on Egypt
2About Egypt. 46:2 2 Kgs. 23:29; 2 Chr. 35:20Concerning the army of Pharaoh Neco, king of Egypt, which was by the river Euphrates at Carchemish and which Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon defeated in 46:2 ch. 25:1; 36:1; 45:1the fourth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah:
and advance for battle!
mount, O horsemen!
Take your stations with your helmets,
46:4 [See ver. 3above]polish your spears,
put on your armor!
5Why have I seen it?
They are dismayed
and have turned backward.
Their 46:5 [2 Sam. 1:19, 25] warriors are beaten down
and have fled in haste;
46:5 See ch. 6:25terror on every side!
declares the Lord.
6“The swift cannot flee away,
nor the warrior escape;
46:6 [See ver. 2above] in the north by the river Euphrates
46:6 [Dan. 11:19]they have stumbled and fallen.
7“Who is this, 46:7 [ch. 47:2; Isa. 8:7, 8; Dan. 11:22] rising like the Nile,
like rivers 46:7 [Ezek. 32:2]whose waters surge?
8Egypt rises like the Nile,
like rivers 46:8 [See ver. 7above]whose waters surge.
He said, ‘I will rise, I will cover the earth,
I will destroy cities and their inhabitants.’
946:9 Nah. 3:2; [Judg. 5:22] Advance, O horses,
and rage, O chariots!
Let the warriors go out:
men of Cush and 46:9 Ezek. 27:10Put who handle the shield,
46:9 Isa. 66:19men of Lud, skilled in handling the bow.
46:10 ch. 50:15a day of vengeance,
46:10 Isa. 1:24to avenge himself on his foes.
46:10 [ver. 14; Isa. 34:5] The sword shall devour and be sated
and drink its fill of their blood.
For the Lord God of hosts holds 46:10 [Isa. 34:6] a sacrifice
O virgin daughter of Egypt!
In vain you have used many medicines;
46:11 [Ezek. 30:21]there is no healing for you.
12The nations have heard of your shame,
and the earth is full of your cry;
46:12 ver. 6for warrior has stumbled against warrior;
they have both fallen together.”
say, 46:14 [ver. 3, 4] ‘Stand ready and be prepared,
for 46:14 [ver. 10]the sword shall devour around you.’
15Why are your mighty ones face down?
They do not stand46:15 Hebrew He does not stand
because the Lord thrust them down.
16He made many stumble, 46:16 Lev. 26:37and they fell,
and they said one to another,
‘Arise, and let us go back to our own people
and to the land of our birth,
46:16 ch. 50:16because of the sword of the oppressor.’
‘Noisy one who lets the hour go by.’
like 46:18 Judg. 4:6Tabor among the mountains
and like 46:18 1 Kgs. 18:42, 44Carmel by the sea, shall one come.
1946:19 [Ezek. 12:3] Prepare yourselves baggage for exile,
O 46:19 [ch. 48:18] inhabitants of Egypt!
For 46:19 See ch. 44:1Memphis shall become a waste,
a ruin, 46:19 See ch. 4:7without inhabitant.
20“A beautiful 46:20 [Hos. 10:11] heifer is Egypt,
21Even her hired soldiers in her midst
yes, they have turned and fled together;
they did not stand,
for the day of their calamity has come upon them,
46:21 ch. 50:27the time of their punishment.
for her enemies march in force
and come against her with axes
46:22 [Isa. 10:34; 14:8]like those who fell trees.
declares the Lord,
though it is impenetrable,
they are without number.
24The daughter of Egypt shall be put to shame;
she shall be delivered into the hand of 46:24 [See ver. 20above]a people from the north.”
25The Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, said: “Behold, I am bringing punishment upon 46:25 [Nah. 3:8] Amon of 46:25 Ezek. 30:14, 15, 16Thebes, and Pharaoh and Egypt 46:25 See ch. 43:12and her gods and her kings, upon Pharaoh and those who trust in him.
2646:26 ch. 44:30; Ezek. 30:4; 32:11I will deliver them into the hand of those who seek their life, into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon and his officers. 46:26 Ezek. 29:13, 14; See Isa. 19:22-25Afterward Egypt shall be inhabited 46:26 Isa. 51:9as in the days of old, declares the Lord.
nor be dismayed, O Israel,
for behold, I will save you from far away,
and your offspring from the land of their captivity.
Jacob shall return and have quiet and ease,
and none shall make him afraid.
declares the Lord,
for I am with you.
I will make a full end of all the nations
to which I have driven you,
but of you I will not make a full end.
46:28 ch. 10:24I will discipline you in just measure,
and I will by no means leave you unpunished.”
