Jeremiah 第23章
The Righteous Branch
123:1 ch. 6:3; 10:21; 22:22; 25:34, 36; Isa. 56:11; Ezek. 34:2; Zech. 11:17; [John 10:12, 13]“Woe to the shepherds who destroy and scatter the sheep of my pasture!” declares the Lord.
2Therefore thus says the Lord, the God of Israel, concerning 23:2 [See ver. 1above] the shepherds who care for my people: “You have scattered my flock and have driven them away, and you have not attended to them. 23:2 ver. 22; ch. 4:4Behold, I will attend to you for your evil deeds, declares the Lord.
323:3 ch. 29:14; 32:37; Deut. 30:3; Ezek. 20:34, 41; 37:21; [Ps. 107:3]; See Ezek. 34:11-16Then I will gather the remnant of my flock 23:3 [ch. 8:3] out of all the countries where I have driven them, and I will bring them back to their fold, 23:3 [Gen. 1:28]and they shall be fruitful and multiply.
523:5 For ver. 5, 6, see ch. 33:14-16“Behold, the days are coming, declares the Lord, when I will raise up for David a righteous 23:5 Isa. 4:2; 11:1Branch, and 23:5 ch. 30:9; Isa. 32:1; Ezek. 37:24; Hos. 3:5; Zech. 9:9; Matt. 2:2; Luke 1:32; 19:38; John 1:49he shall reign as king and deal wisely, and shall execute justice and righteousness in the land.
6In his days Judah will be saved, and 23:6 Deut. 33:28; [Zech. 14:11] Israel will 23:6 ch. 32:37dwell securely. And this is the name by which he will be called: 23:6 Rom. 10:4; 1 Cor. 1:30‘The Lord is our righteousness.’
723:7 For ver. 7, 8, see ch. 16:14, 15“Therefore, behold, the days are coming, declares the Lord, when they shall no longer say, ‘As the Lord lives who brought up the people of Israel out of the land of Egypt,’
8but ‘As the Lord lives who brought up and led the offspring of the house of Israel out of the north country and out of all the countries where he23:8 Septuagint; Hebrew I had driven them.’ Then they shall dwell in their own land.”
Lying Prophets
9Concerning the prophets:
23:9 Ezek. 6:9My heart is broken within me;
23:9 Hab. 3:16all my bones shake;
I am like a drunken man,
like a man overcome by wine,
because of the Lord
and because of his holy words.
and 23:10 ch. 9:10; 12:4; Ps. 107:34the pastures of the wilderness are dried up.
23:10 [ch. 22:17]Their course is evil,
and their might is not right.
even 23:11 ch. 7:30; 32:34; Ezek. 8:16; 23:39in my house I have found their evil,
declares the Lord.
like slippery paths 23:12 Prov. 4:19; [ch. 13:16] in the darkness,
into which they shall be driven and fall,
for I will bring disaster upon them
23:12 ch. 11:23in the year of their punishment,
declares the Lord.
23:13 Lam. 2:14I saw an unsavory thing:
23:13 ch. 2:8they prophesied by Baal
14But in the prophets of Jerusalem
I have seen a horrible thing:
23:14 ch. 29:23they commit adultery and walk in lies;
23:14 Ps. 64:5; Ezek. 13:22they strengthen the hands of evildoers,
so that no one turns from his evil;
15Therefore thus says the Lord of hosts concerning the prophets:
for from the prophets of Jerusalem
ungodliness has gone out into all the land.”
16Thus says the Lord of hosts: “Do not listen to the words of the prophets who prophesy to you, 23:16 [Ps. 12:2] filling you with vain hopes. 23:16 [ver. 21, 26; Num. 16:28]They speak visions of their own minds, not from the mouth of the Lord.
to see and to hear his word,
or who has paid attention to his word and listened?
Wrath has gone forth,
23:19 ch. 25:32a whirling tempest;
it will burst upon the head of the wicked.
until he has executed and 23:20 ch. 30:24; [Isa. 55:11] accomplished
the intents of his heart.
23:20 ch. 30:24In the latter days you will understand it clearly.
yet they ran;
I did not speak to them,
yet they prophesied.
then they would have proclaimed my words to my people,
and 23:22 ver. 2from the evil of their deeds.
2323:23 [Ps. 94:7, 9; Amos 9:2, 3]; See Ps. 139:7-12“Am I a God at hand, declares the Lord, and not a God far away?
2423:24 [See ver. 23above] Can a man hide himself in secret places so that I cannot see him? declares the Lord. 23:24 Isa. 66:1; Acts 7:49Do I not fill heaven and earth? declares the Lord.
25I have heard what the prophets have said 23:25 See ch. 5:31who prophesy lies in my name, saying, 23:25 [Zech. 10:2]‘I have dreamed, I have dreamed!’
26How long shall there be lies in the heart of 23:26 [ver. 16, 21; Num. 16:28]the prophets who prophesy lies, and who prophesy the deceit of their own heart,
27who think to make my people forget my name 23:27 [See ver. 25above] by their dreams that they tell one another, even as their 23:27 Judg. 3:7; 8:33, 34fathers forgot my name for Baal?
2823:28 [Num. 12:6] Let the prophet who has a dream 23:28 ver. 25tell the dream, but let him who has my word speak my word faithfully. 23:28 [Luke 3:17]What has straw in common with wheat? declares the Lord.
2923:29 [See ver. 28above] Is not my word like fire, declares the Lord, and 23:29 [Dan. 2:34, 45]like a hammer that breaks the rock in pieces?
3023:30 Ezek. 13:8; [ch. 14:15; Deut. 18:20]Therefore, behold, I am against the prophets, declares the Lord, who steal my words from one another.
31Behold, I am against the prophets, declares the Lord, who use their tongues and declare, ‘declares the Lord.’
3323:33 See Ezek. 14:1-11“When one of this people, or a prophet or a priest asks you, ‘What is the burden of the Lord?’ you shall say to them, ‘You are the burden,23:33 Septuagint, Vulgate; Hebrew What burden? and 23:33 [Hos. 4:6]I will cast you off, declares the Lord.’
34And as for the prophet, priest, or one of the people who says, ‘The burden of the Lord,’ 23:34 [See ver. 33above]I will punish that man and his household.
35Thus shall you say, every one to his neighbor and every one to his brother, ‘What has the Lord answered?’ or ‘What has the Lord spoken?’
36But ‘the burden of the Lord’ you shall mention no more, for the burden is every man’s own word, and 23:36 [Matt. 15:6] you pervert the words of 23:36 Ps. 42:2the living God, the Lord of hosts, our God.
37Thus you shall say to the prophet, ‘What has the Lord answered you?’ or ‘What has the Lord spoken?’
38But if you say, ‘The burden of the Lord,’ thus says the Lord, ‘Because you have said these words, “The burden of the Lord,” when I sent to you, saying, “You shall not say, ‘The burden of the Lord,’”
