Ezekiel39

1“And you, 39:1 See ch. 2:1son of man, 39:1 ch. 38:2, 3prophesy against 39:1 ch. 38:2Gog and say, Thus says the Lord God: Behold, 39:1 ch. 38:3; See ch. 13:8I am against you, O Gog, 39:1 ch. 38:2, 3chief prince of 39:1 ch. 38:2Meshech39:1 Or Gog, prince of Rosh, Meshech and 39:1 ch. 38:2Tubal.
239:2 ch. 38:4And I will turn you about and drive you forward,39:2 Or and drag you along and bring you up from 39:2 ch. 38:6, 15; [ch. 32:30] the uttermost parts of the north, and lead you against the 39:2 See ch. 6:2mountains of Israel.
3Then 39:3 [Ps. 76:3]I will strike your bow from your left hand, and 39:3 [Ps. 76:3]will make your arrows drop out of your right hand.
439:4 [ch. 38:21] You shall fall on 39:4 [See ver. 2above] the mountains of Israel, you and all your 39:4 ch. 38:6, 9, 22hordes and the peoples who are with you. 39:4 [ver. 17]I will give you to birds of prey of every sort and to the beasts of the field to be devoured.
5You shall fall in the open field, for 39:5 See ch. 17:21I have spoken, declares the Lord God.
639:6 [ch. 28:18; 30:8, 14, 16; 38:22] I will send fire on 39:6 ch. 38:2Magog and on those 39:6 ch. 38:8, 14who dwell securely in 39:6 ch. 27:3, 6, 7, 15the coastlands, and 39:6 See ch. 6:7they shall know that I am the Lord.
7“And 39:7 [ver. 22] my holy name I will make known in the midst of my people Israel, and 39:7 See ch. 20:39I will not let my holy name be profaned anymore. And 39:7 See ch. 36:23the nations shall know that I am 39:7 Isa. 45:11the Lord, the Holy One in Israel.
839:8 ch. 21:7Behold, it is coming and it will be brought about, declares the Lord God. That is the day 39:8 ch. 38:17of which I have spoken.
9“Then those who dwell in the cities of Israel will go out and 39:9 [Ps. 46:9; Isa. 9:5] make fires of the weapons and burn them, shields and bucklers, bow and arrows, 39:9 [1 Sam. 17:40]clubs39:9 Or javelins and spears; and they will make fires of them for seven years,
10so that they will not need to take wood out of the field or cut down any out of the forests, for 39:10 [See ver. 9above] they will make their fires of the weapons. 39:10 [Isa. 33:1]They will seize the spoil of those who despoiled them, and plunder those who plundered them, declares the Lord God.
11“On that day I will give to 39:11 ch. 38:2Gog a place for burial in Israel, the Valley of the Travelers, east of the sea. It will block the travelers, for there Gog and all his multitude will be buried. It will be called the Valley of 39:11 ver. 15Hamon-gog.39:11 Hamon-gog means the multitude of Gog
12For 39:12 [ver. 14] seven months the house of Israel will be burying them, in order 39:12 [Deut. 21:23]to cleanse the land.
13All the people of the land will bury them, and it will bring them renown on the day that 39:13 ch. 28:22I show my glory, declares the Lord God.
14They will set apart men to travel through the land regularly and bury those travelers remaining on the face of the land, so as 39:14 [See ver. 12above] to cleanse it. At39:14 Or Until the end of 39:14 [ver. 12]seven months they will make their search.
15And when these travel through the land and anyone sees a human bone, then he shall set up a sign by it, till the buriers have buried it in the Valley of 39:15 ver. 11Hamon-gog.
16(Hamonah39:16 Hamonah means multitude is also the name of the city.) Thus shall they cleanse the land.
17“As for you, 39:17 See ch. 2:1son of man, thus says the Lord God: 39:17 [Rev. 19:17] Speak to 39:17 ver. 4; [Jer. 12:9] the birds of every sort and to 39:17 ver. 4; [Jer. 12:9] all beasts of the field: ‘Assemble and come, gather from all around to 39:17 [Isa. 34:6; Zeph. 1:7]the sacrificial feast that I am preparing for you, a great sacrificial feast on the mountains of Israel, and you shall eat flesh and drink blood.
1839:18 [Rev. 19:18] You shall eat the flesh of the mighty, and drink the blood of the princes of the earth—of rams, of lambs, and of he-goats, of bulls, all of them 39:18 [Ps. 22:12]fat beasts of Bashan.
19And you shall eat fat till you are filled, and drink blood till you are drunk, at the sacrificial feast that I am preparing for you.
20And you shall be filled at my table with horses and charioteers, with mighty men and all kinds of warriors,’ declares the Lord God.
21“And 39:21 ver. 7, 13; [ch. 28:22; 37:28; 38:23]; See ch. 36:23I will set my glory among the nations, and all the nations shall see 39:21 [Ex. 7:4]my judgment that I have executed, and 39:21 [Ex. 7:4]my hand that I have laid on them.
2239:22 ver. 28; Joel 2:27; See ch. 6:7The house of Israel shall know that I am the Lord their God, from that day forward.
23And 39:23 See Deut. 29:24-28the nations shall know that the house of Israel went into captivity for their iniquity, because they dealt so treacherously with me that 39:23 Deut. 31:17I hid my face from them and 39:23 [Lev. 26:25]gave them into the hand of their adversaries, and they all fell by the sword.
24I dealt with them 39:24 [See ch. 18:30]according to their uncleanness and their transgressions, and hid my face from them.
The Lord Will Restore Israel
25“Therefore thus says the Lord God: Now 39:25 See Jer. 30:3I will restore the fortunes of Jacob and have mercy on 39:25 ch. 20:40the whole house of Israel, and 39:25 [ch. 20:9]; See ch. 5:13I will be jealous for my holy name.
26They shall 39:26 See ch. 32:24forget their shame and all the treachery they have practiced against me, when 39:26 ch. 34:25, 27, 28; 38:8they dwell securely in their land with 39:26 ch. 34:28none to make them afraid,
2739:27 ch. 28:25; See ch. 11:17when I have brought them back from the peoples and gathered them from their enemies’ lands, 39:27 See ch. 20:41and through them have vindicated my holiness in the sight of many nations.
2839:28 [See ver. 22above]Then they shall know that I am the Lord their God, because I sent them into exile among the nations and then assembled them into their own land. I will leave none of them remaining among the nations anymore.
2939:29 [ver. 23] And I will not hide my face anymore from them, when 39:29 [Joel 2:28]I pour out my Spirit upon the house of Israel, declares the Lord God.”
