Oppressors Judged
1Woe to those who dream up wickedness
At morning light2:1 Hs 7:6–7 they accomplish it
they also take houses.
They deprive a man of his home,2:2 1Kg 21:1–15
3Therefore, the Lord says:
Then you will not walk so proudly2:3 Is 2:11–12
because it will be an evil time.2:3 Am 5:13
He measures out the allotted land of my people.
How he removes it from me!
5Therefore, there will be no one
in the assembly of the Lord

7House of Jacob, should it be asked,
Are these the things he does?”
8But recently my people have risen up

out of their comfortable homes,
from their children forever.
10Get up and leave,
for this is not your place of rest2:10 Dt 3:19–20; 12:8–10
because defilement2:10 Ps 106:38 brings destruction —

11If a man comes
“I will preach to you about wine and beer”2:11 Is 28:7 —
he would be just the preacher for this people!2:11 Is 30:10–11
The Remnant Regathered
I will bring them together like sheep in a pen,
like a flock in the middle of its pasture.
It will be noisy with people.2:12 Jr 23:3; Ezk 36:35–38
13One who breaks open the way
will advance before them;
they will break out, pass through the city gate,
and leave by it.
Their King will pass through before them,
the Lord as their leader.
