  • Ezekiel 22:27 - Your leaders are like wolves who tear apart their victims. They actually destroy people’s lives for money!
  • Ezekiel 22:28 - And your prophets cover up for them by announcing false visions and making lying predictions. They say, ‘My message is from the Sovereign Lord,’ when the Lord hasn’t spoken a single word to them.
  • Isaiah 57:17 - I was angry, so I punished these greedy people. I withdrew from them, but they kept going on their own stubborn way.
  • Zephaniah 3:3 - Its leaders are like roaring lions hunting for their victims. Its judges are like ravenous wolves at evening time, who by dawn have left no trace of their prey.
  • Zephaniah 3:4 - Its prophets are arrogant liars seeking their own gain. Its priests defile the Temple by disobeying God’s instructions.
  • Jeremiah 14:18 - If I go out into the fields, I see the bodies of people slaughtered by the enemy. If I walk the city streets, I see people who have died of starvation. The prophets and priests continue with their work, but they don’t know what they’re doing.”
  • Jeremiah 5:31 - the prophets give false prophecies, and the priests rule with an iron hand. Worse yet, my people like it that way! But what will you do when the end comes?
  • Micah 3:2 - but you are the very ones who hate good and love evil. You skin my people alive and tear the flesh from their bones.
  • Micah 3:3 - Yes, you eat my people’s flesh, strip off their skin, and break their bones. You chop them up like meat for the cooking pot.
  • Micah 3:5 - This is what the Lord says: “You false prophets are leading my people astray! You promise peace for those who give you food, but you declare war on those who refuse to feed you.
  • Jeremiah 22:17 - “But you! You have eyes only for greed and dishonesty! You murder the innocent, oppress the poor, and reign ruthlessly.”
  • Micah 3:11 - You rulers make decisions based on bribes; you priests teach God’s laws only for a price; you prophets won’t prophesy unless you are paid. Yet all of you claim to depend on the Lord. “No harm can come to us,” you say, “for the Lord is here among us.”
  • Jeremiah 8:10 - I will give their wives to others and their farms to strangers. From the least to the greatest, their lives are ruled by greed. Yes, even my prophets and priests are like that. They are all frauds.
  • Jeremiah 23:11 - “Even the priests and prophets are ungodly, wicked men. I have seen their despicable acts right here in my own Temple,” says the Lord.
