2 Chronicles 33:23 - He didn’t make himself humble in the Lord’s sight as his father Manasseh had done. So Amon became even more guilty.
Daniel 9:7 - “Lord, you always do what is right. But we are covered with shame today. We are the people of Judah and Jerusalem. All of us are Israelites, no matter where we live. We are now living in many countries. You scattered us among the nations because we weren’t faithful to you.
Daniel 9:8 - Lord, we are covered with shame. So are our kings and princes, and our people of long ago. We have sinned against you.
Daniel 9:9 - You are the Lord our God. You show us your tender love. You forgive us. But we have turned against you.
Daniel 9:10 - You are the Lord our God. But we haven’t obeyed you. We haven’t kept the laws you gave us through your servants the prophets.
Daniel 9:11 - All the people of Israel have broken your law and turned away from it. They have refused to obey you. “Curses and warnings are written down in the Law of Moses. He was your servant. Those curses have been poured out on us. That’s because we have sinned against you.
Daniel 9:12 - The warnings you gave us and our rulers have come true. You have brought great trouble on us. Nothing like what has been done to Jerusalem has ever happened anywhere else on earth.
Daniel 9:13 - The curses that are written in the Law of Moses have fallen on us. We have received nothing but trouble. You are the Lord our God. But we haven’t asked for your favor. We haven’t turned away from our sins. We’ve refused to pay attention to the laws you gave us.
Daniel 9:14 - Lord, you didn’t hold back from bringing this trouble on us. You always do what is right. But we haven’t obeyed you.
1 Peter 5:5 - In the same way, I’m speaking to you who are younger. Follow the lead of those who are older. All of you, put on a spirit free of pride toward one another. Put it on as if it were your clothes. Do this because Scripture says, “God opposes those who are proud. But he gives grace to those who are humble.” ( Proverbs 3:34 )
1 Peter 5:6 - So make yourselves humble. Put yourselves under God’s mighty hand. Then he will honor you at the right time.
Ezra 9:13 - “Our evil acts and our terrible sins have brought about the things that have happened to us. You are our God. Because we sinned so much, you should have punished us even more than you have. But you have left many of your people alive.
Matthew 23:12 - People who lift themselves up will be made humble. And people who make themselves humble will be lifted up.
Psalm 39:9 - I keep silent. I don’t open my mouth. You are the one who has caused all this to happen.
James 4:6 - But God continues to give us more grace. That’s why Scripture says, “God opposes those who are proud. But he gives grace to those who are humble.” ( Proverbs 3:34 )
James 4:7 - So obey God. Stand up to the devil. He will run away from you.

Luke 18:14 - “I tell you, the tax collector went home accepted by God. But not the Pharisee. All those who lift themselves up will be made humble. And those who make themselves humble will be lifted up.”
Ezra 9:15 - Lord, you are the God of Israel. You are holy. You always do what is right. Today you have left many of your people alive. Here we are with all our guilt. You see the guilt of our sin. Because we have sinned, not one of us can stand in front of you.”

2 Chronicles 12:12 - Rehoboam had made himself humble in the Lord’s sight. So the Lord turned his anger away from him. Rehoboam wasn’t totally destroyed. In fact, some good things happened in Judah.
Galatians 5:6 - Circumcision and uncircumcision aren’t worth anything to those who believe in Christ Jesus. The only thing that really counts is faith that shows itself through love.
Romans 2:28 - A person is not a Jew if they are a Jew only on the outside. And circumcision is more than just something done to the outside of a man’s body.
Romans 2:29 - No, a person is a Jew only if they are a Jew on the inside. And true circumcision means that the heart has been circumcised by the Holy Spirit. The person whose heart has been circumcised does more than obey the written law. The praise that matters for that kind of person does not come from other people. It comes from God.
Psalm 51:3 - I know the lawless acts I’ve committed. I can’t forget my sin.
Psalm 51:4 - You are the one I’ve really sinned against. I’ve done what is evil in your sight. So you are right when you sentence me. You are fair when you judge me.
Daniel 9:18 - Our God, please listen to us. The city that belongs to you has been destroyed. Open your eyes and see it. We aren’t asking you to answer our prayers because we are godly. Instead, we’re asking you to do it because you love us so much.
Daniel 9:19 - Lord, please listen! Lord, please forgive us! Lord, hear our prayers! Take action for your own honor. Our God, please don’t wait. Your city and your people belong to you.”
2 Chronicles 12:6 - The king and the leaders of Israel made themselves humble in the Lord’s sight. They said, “The Lord does what is right and fair.”
2 Chronicles 12:7 - The Lord saw they had made themselves humble. So he gave a message to Shemaiah. The Lord said, “They have made themselves humble in my sight. So I will not destroy them. Instead, I will soon save them. Even though I am very angry with Jerusalem, I will not use Shishak to destroy them.
Jeremiah 6:10 - Who can I speak to? Who can I warn? Who will even listen to me? Their ears are closed so they can’t hear. The Lord’s message displeases them. They don’t take any delight in it.
Philippians 3:3 - But we have been truly circumcised. We serve God by the power of his Spirit. We boast about what Christ Jesus has done. We don’t put our trust in who we are or what we can do.
1 Kings 21:29 - “Have you seen how Ahab has made himself humble in my sight? Because he has done that, I will not bring trouble on him while he lives. But I will bring it on his royal house when his son is king.”
Deuteronomy 30:6 - The Lord your God will keep you from being stubborn. He’ll do the same thing for your children and their children. Then you will love him with all your heart and with all your soul. And you will live.
2 Chronicles 33:12 - When Manasseh was in trouble, he asked the Lord his God to help him. He made himself very humble in the sight of the God of his people.
2 Chronicles 33:13 - Manasseh prayed to him. When he did, the Lord felt sorry for him. He answered his prayer. The Lord brought Manasseh back to Jerusalem and his kingdom. Then Manasseh knew that the Lord is God.
2 Chronicles 32:26 - Then Hezekiah had a change of heart. He was sorry he had been proud. The people of Jerusalem were also sorry they had sinned. So the Lord wasn’t angry with them as long as Hezekiah was king.
Ezekiel 20:43 - There you will remember your conduct. You will think about everything you did that made you “unclean.” And you will hate yourselves because of all the evil things you have done.
Colossians 2:11 - When you received Christ, your circumcision was not done by human hands. Instead, your circumcision was done by Christ. He put away the person you used to be. At that time, sin’s power ruled over you.
Acts 7:51 - “You stubborn people! You won’t obey! You won’t listen! You are just like your people of long ago! You always oppose the Holy Spirit!
Jeremiah 4:4 - People of Judah and you who live in Jerusalem, obey me. Do not let your hearts be stubborn. If you do, my anger will blaze out against you. It will burn like fire because of the evil things you have done. No one will be able to put it out.
Jeremiah 9:25 - “The days are coming when I will judge people,” announces the Lord. “I will punish all those who are circumcised only in their bodies.
Jeremiah 9:26 - That includes the people of Egypt, Judah, Edom, Ammon and Moab. It also includes all those who live in the desert in places far away. None of the people in these nations is really circumcised. And not even the people of Israel are circumcised in their hearts.”
Ezekiel 44:7 - You brought outsiders into my temple. They were not circumcised. Their hearts were stubborn. You made my temple ‘unclean.’ But you offered me food, fat and blood anyway. When you did all these things, you broke the covenant I made with you. I hated all the evil things you did.
