A Vision of Four Chariots

1Again I lifted my eyes and saw, and behold, four chariots came out from between two mountains. And the mountains were mountains of 6:1 Dan. 2:39bronze.

2The first chariot had 6:2 ch. 1:8; Rev. 6:4red horses, the second 6:2 Rev. 6:5black horses,

3the third 6:3 ch. 1:8; Rev. 6:2white horses, and the fourth chariot dappled horses—all of them strong.6:3 Or and the fourth chariot strong dappled horses

4Then I answered and said to 6:4 ch. 1:9the angel who talked with me, “What are these, my lord?”

5And the angel answered and said to me, 6:5 Ps. 104:4; Heb. 1:7“These are going out to the four winds of heaven,6:5 Or These are the four winds of heaven going out after 6:5 ch. 3:4presenting themselves before 6:5 ch. 4:14the Lord of all the earth.

6The chariot with the black horses goes toward 6:6 ver. 8; ch. 2:6; Jer. 1:13the north country, the white ones go after them, and the dappled ones go toward 6:6 [ch. 9:14]the south country.”

7When the strong horses came out, they were impatient to go and 6:7 [ch. 1:10]patrol the earth. And he said, “Go, 6:7 [ch. 1:10]patrol the earth.” 6:7 [ch. 1:10]So they patrolled the earth.

8Then he cried to me, “Behold, those who go toward 6:8 [See ver. 6above]the north country have set my Spirit at rest in 6:8 [See ver. 6above]the north country.”

The Crown and the Temple

9And the word of the Lord came to me:

10“Take from the exiles 6:10 [ver. 14] Heldai, Tobijah, and 6:10 Neh. 7:39Jedaiah, who have arrived from Babylon, and go the same day to the house of Josiah, the son of 6:10 2 Kgs. 25:18Zephaniah.

11Take from them silver and gold, and make a crown, 6:11 [ch. 3:5] and set it on the head of 6:11 ch. 3:1Joshua, the son of Jehozadak, the high priest.

12And say to him, ‘Thus says the Lord of hosts, “Behold, the man whose name is 6:12 See ch. 3:8the Branch: for he shall branch out from his place, and 6:12 [Matt. 16:18; Heb. 3:3]; See Eph. 2:20-22he shall build the temple of the Lord.

14And the crown shall be in the temple of the Lord as 6:14 Ex. 12:14; [Matt. 26:13; Mark 14:9] a reminder to 6:14 [ver. 10] Helem,6:14 An alternate spelling of Heldai (verse 10)6:14 ver. 10Tobijah, 6:14 ver. 10Jedaiah, and Hen 6:14 ver. 10the son of Zephaniah.
