Revelation20

The Thousand Years
1Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven, 20:1 See ch. 1:18holding in his hand the key to 20:1 See ch. 9:1the bottomless pit20:1 Greek the abyss; also verse 3 and a great chain.
2And he seized 20:2 See ch. 12:9the dragon, that ancient serpent, who is the devil and Satan, and 20:2 [2 Pet. 2:4; Jude 6]bound him for a thousand years,
3and threw him into 20:3 [See ver. 1above] the pit, and shut it and 20:3 Dan. 6:17; [Matt. 27:66] sealed it over him, so that 20:3 ver. 8, 10he might not deceive the nations any longer, until the thousand years were ended. After that he must be released for a little while.
4Then I saw 20:4 Dan. 7:9; Matt. 19:28thrones, and 20:4 ch. 3:21; Dan. 7:22seated on them were those to whom the authority to judge was committed. Also I saw 20:4 ch. 6:9the souls of those who had been beheaded for the testimony of Jesus and for the word of God, and those 20:4 ch. 13:12, 14-16who had not worshiped the beast or its image and had not received its mark on their foreheads or their hands. 20:4 [John 14:19; 2 Tim. 2:11] They came to life and 20:4 ver. 6; ch. 5:10; 22:5; Dan. 7:18; Matt. 20:21, 27; 2 Tim. 2:12; [Ps. 45:16]reigned with Christ for a thousand years.
5The rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were ended. This is the first resurrection.
620:6 ch. 14:13Blessed and holy is the one who shares in the first resurrection! Over such 20:6 ver. 14; ch. 2:11; 21:8the second death has no power, but they will be 20:6 See ch. 1:6priests of God and of Christ, and they 20:6 ver. 4will reign with him for a thousand years.
The Defeat of Satan
7And when the thousand years are ended, 20:7 ver. 2Satan will be released from his prison
8and will come out 20:8 ver. 3, 10to deceive the nations that are at the four corners of the earth, 20:8 Ezek. 38:2; 39:1Gog and Magog, 20:8 See ch. 16:14to gather them for battle; their number is like the sand of the sea.
9And 20:9 [Isa. 8:8; Ezek. 38:9, 16; Hab. 1:6] they marched up over the broad plain of the earth and surrounded 20:9 Heb. 13:11, 13the camp of the saints and 20:9 [Ps. 132:13] the beloved city, but 20:9 See ch. 13:13fire came down from heaven20:9 Some manuscripts from God, out of heaven, or out of heaven from God and consumed them,
10and the devil 20:10 ver. 3, 8who had deceived them was 20:10 See ch. 19:20thrown into the lake of fire and sulfur where 20:10 See ch. 16:13the beast and the false prophet were, and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.
Judgment Before the Great White Throne
11Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it. From his presence 20:11 See Ps. 102:26earth and sky fled away, and 20:11 ch. 12:8; Dan. 2:35no place was found for them.
12And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and 20:12 Dan. 7:10books were opened. Then another book was opened, which is 20:12 See ch. 3:5the book of life. And 20:12 Rom. 14:10; 2 Cor. 5:10; See ch. 11:18the dead were judged by what was written in the books, 20:12 See Matt. 16:27according to what they had done.
13And the sea gave up the dead who were in it, 20:13 ch. 6:8Death and Hades gave up the dead who were in them, and they were judged, each one of them, 20:13 [See ver. 12above]according to what they had done.
14Then 20:14 [See ver. 13above] Death and Hades 20:14 [ch. 21:4; Luke 20:36; 1 Cor. 15:26] were thrown into the lake of fire. This is 20:14 ver. 6the second death, the lake of fire.
15And if anyone’s name was not found written in the book of life, 20:15 Matt. 13:42, 50he was thrown into the lake of fire.
