Zion’s Coming Salvation

162:1 ver. 6, 7For Zion’s sake I will not keep silent,

and for Jerusalem’s sake I will not be quiet,

62:1 [Prov. 4:18]until her righteousness goes forth as brightness,

and her salvation as a burning torch.

262:2 ch. 60:3; Ps. 98:2The nations shall see your righteousness,

and all the kings your glory,

62:2 ch. 60:14; [Rev. 2:17; 3:12]and you shall be called by a new name

that the mouth of the Lord will give.

3You shall be 62:3 Zech. 9:16; [ch. 54:11, 12]a crown of beauty in the hand of the Lord,

and a royal diadem in the hand of your God.

and your land shall no more be termed Desolate,62:4 Hebrew Shemamah

and your land Married;62:4 Hebrew Beulah

for the Lord delights in you,

and your land shall be married.

5For as a young man marries a young woman,

so 62:5 [ch. 51:18] shall your sons marry you,

and as the bridegroom rejoices over the bride,

so 62:5 ch. 65:19shall your God rejoice over you.

6On your walls, O Jerusalem,

I have set 62:6 ch. 52:8; 56:10watchmen;

all the day and all the night

they shall never be silent.

You who put the Lord in remembrance,

take no rest,

7and give him no rest

until he establishes Jerusalem

and makes it 62:7 ch. 60:18; [ch. 61:11; Zeph. 3:20]a praise in the earth.

8The Lord has sworn 62:8 [Heb. 6:13] by his right hand

and by his mighty arm:

“I will not again give 62:8 Deut. 28:33; Jer. 5:17your grain

to be food for your enemies,

62:8 [ch. 65:21, 22]and foreigners shall not drink your wine

for which you have labored;

9but 62:9 [Deut. 12:12; 14:23, 26]those who garner it shall eat it

and praise the Lord,

and 62:9 [Deut. 12:12; 14:23, 26]those who gather it shall drink it

in the courts of my sanctuary.”62:9 Or in my holy courts

10Go through, go through the gates;

62:10 ch. 40:3prepare the way for the people;

62:10 ch. 57:14build up, build up the highway;

clear it of stones;

62:10 ch. 11:10; 49:22lift up a signal over the peoples.

11Behold, the Lord has proclaimed

to the end of the earth:

62:11 Zech. 9:9; [Matt. 21:5; John 12:15] Say to the daughter of Zion,

62:11 ch. 40:10“Behold, your salvation comes;

behold, his reward is with him,

and his recompense before him.”

1262:12 ch. 61:6And they shall be called The Holy People,

The Redeemed of the Lord;

62:12 ver. 4; [ch. 61:4]and you shall be called Sought Out,

A City Not Forsaken.
