The Refuge of the Righteous

1Listen to my words, Lord;
consider my sighing. Ps 38:9
2Pay attention to the sound of my cry, Ps 28:2
my King and my God, Ps 84:3
for I pray to You.
3At daybreak, Ps 88:13 Lord, You hear my voice;
at daybreak I plead my case to You Jb 13:18; 23:4; Ps 50:21 and watch expectantly.
4For You are not a God who delights in wickedness;
evil cannot dwell with You. Ps 92:15
5The boastful cannot stand in Your presence; Ps 1:5; 73:3; 75:4
You hate all evildoers. Jb 8:20; Ps 11:5; 45:7
6You destroy those who tell lies; Rv 21:8
the Lord abhors a man of bloodshed and treachery. Ps 55:23
7But I enter Your house
by the abundance of Your faithful love; Ps 69:13; 86:5,15; 106:45; Is 63:7
I bow down toward Your holy temple
in reverential awe of You. Ps 138:2
8Lord, lead me in Your righteousness Ps 27:11
because of my adversaries; Or of those who lie in wait for me
make Your way straight before me. Pr 4:11
9For there is nothing reliable in what they say; Lit in his mouth Ps 52:2
destruction is within them;
their throat is an open grave;
they flatter with their tongues. Ps 12:3; Pr 26:28; Rm 3:13
10Punish them, God;
let them fall by their own schemes. Ps 9:16; 35:8; 141:10
Drive them out Mt 13:41-42 because of their many crimes,
for they rebel against You. Pr 17:11
11But let all who take refuge in You rejoice; Ps 2:12; 64:10
let them shout for joy forever.
May You shelter them, Ps 31:20; 61:4
and may those who love Your name boast about You. Ps 9:2
12For You, Lord, bless the righteous one;
