Because of the covenant I made with you, sealed with blood, I will free your prisoners from death in a waterless dungeon.

錫安啊，因為我用血跟你立了約，我必將你中間被擄的人從無水之坑釋放出來。

錫安哪！至於你，因著我與你立約的血，我把你中間被囚禁的人從無水的坑裡釋放出來。

錫安哪、你，你也如此，為了和你立的約之血、我必將你中間被擄被囚的人從無水坑中釋放出來。

至於你，錫安哪，因著我與你立約的血，我必把你的被囚者從無水的坑裡釋放出來！

若爾、因爾盟約之血、我將釋爾俘囚、出於眢井、

惟爾郇邑、我既立約釁之以血、爾見俘囚、困於眢井、我必釋而出之、

惟爾也、因我與爾所立之約之血、我釋爾被囚者、出於無水之阱、或作爾之俘囚我亦必因爾立約之血自無水之坑中釋而出之

As for you, because of the blood of my covenant with you, I will free your prisoners from the waterless pit.

I will set your prisoners free from where their enemies are keeping them. I will do it because of the blood that put into effect my covenant with you.

As for you also, because of the blood of my covenant with you, I will set your prisoners free from the waterless pit.

As for you, because of the blood of your covenant, I will release your prisoners from the waterless cistern.

As for you also, because of the blood of My covenant with you, I have set your prisoners free from the waterless pit.

“ As for you also, Because of the blood of your covenant, I will set your prisoners free from the waterless pit.

As for thee also, because of the blood of thy covenant I have set free thy prisoners from the pit wherein is no water.

As for you, because of the blood of your covenant, I will release your prisoners from the waterless cistern.

As for thee also, by the blood of thy covenant I have sent forth thy prisoners out of the pit wherein[ is] no water.

Moreover, as for you, because of our covenant relationship secured with blood, I will release your prisoners from the waterless pit.

As for you also, because of the blood of your covenant, I have set free your prisoners from the pit in which is no water.

Soon all you captives will be released! Imprisonment, starvation, and death will not be your fate!

You will open the eyes of the blind. You will free the captives from prison, releasing those who sit in dark dungeons.

Then Moses took the blood from the basins and splattered it over the people, declaring,“ Look, this blood confirms the covenant the Lord has made with you in giving you these instructions.”

Tell them the Lord looked down from his heavenly sanctuary. He looked down to earth from heavento hear the groans of the prisoners, to release those condemned to die.And so the Lord’s fame will be celebrated in Zion, his praises in Jerusalem,

I will say to the prisoners,‘ Come out in freedom,’ and to those in darkness,‘ Come into the light.’ They will be my sheep, grazing in green pastures and on hills that were previously bare.

Some sat in darkness and deepest gloom, imprisoned in iron chains of misery.They rebelled against the words of God, scorning the counsel of the Most High.That is why he broke them with hard labor; they fell, and no one was there to help them.“ Lord, help!” they cried in their trouble, and he saved them from their distress.He led them from the darkness and deepest gloom; he snapped their chains.Let them praise the Lord for his great love and for the wonderful things he has done for them.For he broke down their prison gates of bronze; he cut apart their bars of iron.

After supper he took another cup of wine and said,“ This cup is the new covenant between God and his people— an agreement confirmed with my blood, which is poured out as a sacrifice for you.

for this is my blood, which confirms the covenant between God and his people. It is poured out as a sacrifice to forgive the sins of many.

Just think how much worse the punishment will be for those who have trampled on the Son of God, and have treated the blood of the covenant, which made us holy, as if it were common and unholy, and have insulted and disdained the Holy Spirit who brings God’s mercy to us.

In the same way, he took the cup of wine after supper, saying,“ This cup is the new covenant between God and his people— an agreement confirmed with my blood. Do this in remembrance of me as often as you drink it.”

The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is upon me, for the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the poor. He has sent me to comfort the brokenhearted and to proclaim that captives will be released and prisoners will be freed.

And I will rescue you from both your own people and the Gentiles. Yes, I am sending you to the Gentilesto open their eyes, so they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God. Then they will receive forgiveness for their sins and be given a place among God’s people, who are set apart by faith in me.’

For the Lord hears the cries of the needy; he does not despise his imprisoned people.

So the officials took Jeremiah from his cell and lowered him by ropes into an empty cistern in the prison yard. It belonged to Malkijah, a member of the royal family. There was no water in the cistern, but there was a thick layer of mud at the bottom, and Jeremiah sank down into it.

He lifted me out of the pit of despair, out of the mud and the mire. He set my feet on solid ground and steadied me as I walked along.

But you stand here with me so I can give you all my commands, decrees, and regulations. You must teach them to the people so they can obey them in the land I am giving them as their possession.’”

Some of you will rebuild the deserted ruins of your cities. Then you will be known as a rebuilder of walls and a restorer of homes.

You brought me up from the grave, O Lord. You kept me from falling into the pit of death.

And he said to them,“ This is my blood, which confirms the covenant between God and his people. It is poured out as a sacrifice for many.

For he has rescued us from the kingdom of darkness and transferred us into the Kingdom of his dear Son,who purchased our freedom and forgave our sins.

The angel threw him into the bottomless pit, which he then shut and locked so Satan could not deceive the nations anymore until the thousand years were finished. Afterward he must be released for a little while.

For that old system deals only with food and drink and various cleansing ceremonies— physical regulations that were in effect only until a better system could be established.So Christ has now become the High Priest over all the good things that have come. He has entered that greater, more perfect Tabernacle in heaven, which was not made by human hands and is not part of this created world.With his own blood— not the blood of goats and calves— he entered the Most Holy Place once for all time and secured our redemption forever.Under the old system, the blood of goats and bulls and the ashes of a heifer could cleanse people’s bodies from ceremonial impurity.Just think how much more the blood of Christ will purify our consciences from sinful deeds so that we can worship the living God. For by the power of the eternal Spirit, Christ offered himself to God as a perfect sacrifice for our sins.That is why he is the one who mediates a new covenant between God and people, so that all who are called can receive the eternal inheritance God has promised them. For Christ died to set them free from the penalty of the sins they had committed under that first covenant.Now when someone leaves a will, it is necessary to prove that the person who made it is dead.The will goes into effect only after the person’s death. While the person who made it is still alive, the will cannot be put into effect.That is why even the first covenant was put into effect with the blood of an animal.For after Moses had read each of God’s commandments to all the people, he took the blood of calves and goats, along with water, and sprinkled both the book of God’s law and all the people, using hyssop branches and scarlet wool.Then he said,“ This blood confirms the covenant God has made with you.”And in the same way, he sprinkled blood on the Tabernacle and on everything used for worship.In fact, according to the law of Moses, nearly everything was purified with blood. For without the shedding of blood, there is no forgiveness.That is why the Tabernacle and everything in it, which were copies of things in heaven, had to be purified by the blood of animals. But the real things in heaven had to be purified with far better sacrifices than the blood of animals.For Christ did not enter into a holy place made with human hands, which was only a copy of the true one in heaven. He entered into heaven itself to appear now before God on our behalf.And he did not enter heaven to offer himself again and again, like the high priest here on earth who enters the Most Holy Place year after year with the blood of an animal.If that had been necessary, Christ would have had to die again and again, ever since the world began. But now, once for all time, he has appeared at the end of the age to remove sin by his own death as a sacrifice.

“ The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, for he has anointed me to bring Good News to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim that captives will be released, that the blind will see, that the oppressed will be set free,

Where could I go in my shame? And you would be called one of the greatest fools in Israel. Please, just speak to the king about it, and he will let you marry me.”

Now may the God of peace— who brought up from the dead our Lord Jesus, the great Shepherd of the sheep, and ratified an eternal covenant with his blood—

But his own people have been robbed and plundered, enslaved, imprisoned, and trapped. They are fair game for anyone and have no one to protect them, no one to take them back home.

“ As for you, if you faithfully follow me as David your father did, obeying all my commands, decrees, and regulations,

“ While Your Majesty was sleeping, you dreamed about coming events. He who reveals secrets has shown you what is going to happen.

“ The rich man shouted,‘ Father Abraham, have some pity! Send Lazarus over here to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue. I am in anguish in these flames.’
