But now I plan to do good things to Jerusalem and Judah again. So do not be afraid.

“ so now I have determined to do good again to Jerusalem and Judah. Do not be afraid.

so again have I purposed in these days to bring good to Jerusalem and to the house of Judah; fear not.

But now I am determined to bless Jerusalem and the people of Judah. So don’t be afraid.

so again have I thought in these days to do good unto Jerusalem and to the house of Judah: fear ye not.

Judah and Israel, in the past you have been a curse among the nations. But now I will save you. You will be a blessing to others. Do not be afraid. Let your hands be strong so that you can do my work.”

Lord, who is a God like you? You forgive sin. You forgive your people when they do what is wrong. You don’t stay angry forever. Instead, you take delight in showing your faithful love to them.Once again you will show loving concern for us. You will completely wipe out the evil things we’ve done. You will throw all our sins into the bottom of the sea.You will be faithful to Jacob’s people. You will show your love to Abraham’s children. You will do what you promised to do for our people. You made that promise long ago.

Family of Jacob, the Lord created you. People of Israel, he formed you. He says,“ Do not be afraid. I will set you free. I will send for you by name. You belong to me.You will pass through deep waters. But I will be with you. You will pass through the rivers. But their waters will not sweep over you. You will walk through fire. But you will not be burned. The flames will not harm you.

People of Zion, groan with pain. Cry out like a woman having a baby. Soon you must leave your city. You must camp in the open fields. You will have to go to the land of Babylon. But that’s where the Lord will save you. There he will set you free from the power of your enemies.But now many nations have gathered together to attack you. They say,“ Let Jerusalem be made‘ unclean.’ We want to laugh when Zion suffers!”But those nations don’t know what the Lord has in mind. They don’t understand his plan. He has planned to gather them up like bundles of grain. He has planned to take them to his threshing floor.The Lord says,“ People of Zion, get up and crush your enemies. I will make you like a threshing ox. I will give you iron horns and bronze hooves. So you will crush many nations.” They got their money in the wrong way. But you will set it apart to the Lord. You will give their wealth to the Lord of the whole earth.

“ Little flock, do not be afraid. Your Father has been pleased to give you the kingdom.

The time is coming when people will say to Jerusalem,“ Zion, don’t be afraid. Don’t give up.The Lord your God is with you. He is the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you. In his love he will no longer punish you. Instead, he will sing for joy because of you.”

I know the plans I have for you,” announces the Lord.“ I want you to enjoy success. I do not plan to harm you. I will give you hope for the years to come.Then you will call out to me. You will come and pray to me. And I will listen to you.When you look for me with all your heart, you will find me.I will be found by you,” announces the Lord.“ And I will bring you back from where you were taken as prisoners. I will gather you from all the nations. I will gather you from the places where I have forced you to go,” announces the Lord.“ I will bring you back to the place I sent you away from.”

The Lord says,“ I have brought all this horrible trouble on these people. But now I will give them all the good things I have promised them.
