And as you have been a byword of cursing among the nations, O house of Judah and house of Israel, so will I save you, and you shall be a blessing. Fear not, but let your hands be strong.”

猶大與以色列家歟、爾在列邦、為人呪詛、我將救爾、使爾為人祝嘏、勿懼、其強乃手、

昔猶大家以色列族在異邦中、為人咒詛、後我將救爾、為人祝福、勿畏懼、壯乃心、

猶大族與以色列族、爾在異邦中受咒詛、今我必救爾、使爾被人祝福、勿畏懼、當奮勇勉力、

Just as you, Judah and Israel, have been a curse among the nations, so I will save you, and you will be a blessing. Do not be afraid, but let your hands be strong.”

Judah and Israel, in the past you have been a curse among the nations. But now I will save you. You will be a blessing to others. Do not be afraid. Let your hands be strong so that you can do my work.”

Among the other nations, Judah and Israel became symbols of a cursed nation. But no longer! Now I will rescue you and make you both a symbol and a source of blessing. So don’t be afraid. Be strong, and get on with rebuilding the Temple!

As you have been a curse among the nations, house of Judah and house of Israel, so I will save you, and you will be a blessing. Don’t be afraid; let your hands be strong.”

And it will come about that just as you were a curse among the nations, house of Judah and house of Israel, so I will save you that you may become a blessing. Do not fear; let your hands be strong.’

And it shall come to pass That just as you were a curse among the nations, O house of Judah and house of Israel, So I will save you, and you shall be a blessing. Do not fear, Let your hands be strong.’

And it shall come to pass,[ that] as ye were a curse among the heathen, O house of Judah, and house of Israel; so will I save you, and ye shall be a blessing: fear not,[ but] let your hands be strong.

And it will come about that just as you( both Judah and Israel) were a curse to the nations, so I will save you and you will be a blessing. Do not be afraid! Instead, be strong!’

It shall come to pass that, as you were a curse among the nations, house of Judah and house of Israel, so I will save you, and you shall be a blessing. Don’t be afraid. Let your hands be strong.”

All Israel has transgressed your law and turned aside, refusing to obey your voice. And the curse and oath that are written in the Law of Moses the servant of God have been poured out upon us, because we have sinned against him.

You shall be a reproach and a taunt, a warning and a horror, to the nations all around you, when I execute judgments on you in anger and fury, and with furious rebukes— I am the Lord; I have spoken—

I will pursue them with sword, famine, and pestilence, and will make them a horror to all the kingdoms of the earth, to be a curse, a terror, a hissing, and a reproach among all the nations where I have driven them,

Thus says the Lord of hosts:“ Let your hands be strong, you who in these days have been hearing these words from the mouth of the prophets who were present on the day that the foundation of the house of the Lord of hosts was laid, that the temple might be built.

We have become a taunt to our neighbors, mocked and derided by those around us.

You have made us the taunt of our neighbors, the derision and scorn of those around us.You have made us a byword among the nations, a laughingstock among the peoples.

May his name endure forever, his fame continue as long as the sun! May people be blessed in him, all nations call him blessed!

In that day Israel will be the third with Egypt and Assyria, a blessing in the midst of the earth,whom the Lord of hosts has blessed, saying,“ Blessed be Egypt my people, and Assyria the work of my hands, and Israel my inheritance.”

I will make them a horror to all the kingdoms of the earth, to be a reproach, a byword, a taunt, and a curse in all the places where I shall drive them.

“ For thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: As my anger and my wrath were poured out on the inhabitants of Jerusalem, so my wrath will be poured out on you when you go to Egypt. You shall become an execration, a horror, a curse, and a taunt. You shall see this place no more.

All who pass along the way clap their hands at you; they hiss and wag their heads at the daughter of Jerusalem:“ Is this the city that was called the perfection of beauty, the joy of all the earth?”All your enemies rail against you; they hiss, they gnash their teeth, they cry:“ We have swallowed her! Ah, this is the day we longed for; now we have it; we see it!”

at the sound of the taunter and reviler, at the sight of the enemy and the avenger.

Then he said to me,“ Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel. Behold, they say,‘ Our bones are dried up, and our hope is lost; we are indeed cut off.’

And you shall become a horror, a proverb, and a byword among all the peoples where the Lord will lead you away.

At that time I will bring you in, at the time when I gather you together; for I will make you renowned and praised among all the peoples of the earth, when I restore your fortunes before your eyes,” says the Lord.

“ I will strengthen the house of Judah, and I will save the house of Joseph. I will bring them back because I have compassion on them, and they shall be as though I had not rejected them, for I am the Lord their God and I will answer them.Then Ephraim shall become like a mighty warrior, and their hearts shall be glad as with wine. Their children shall see it and be glad; their hearts shall rejoice in the Lord.“ I will whistle for them and gather them in, for I have redeemed them, and they shall be as many as they were before.Though I scattered them among the nations, yet in far countries they shall remember me, and with their children they shall live and return.

And I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you and make your name great, so that you will be a blessing.I will bless those who bless you, and him who dishonors you I will curse, and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.”

Be watchful, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong.

then I will pluck you up from my land that I have given you, and this house that I have consecrated for my name, I will cast out of my sight, and I will make it a proverb and a byword among all peoples.And at this house, which was exalted, everyone passing by will be astonished and say,‘ Why has the Lord done thus to this land and to this house?’Then they will say,‘ Because they abandoned the Lord, the God of their fathers who brought them out of the land of Egypt, and laid hold on other gods and worshiped them and served them. Therefore he has brought all this disaster on them.’”

“ Thus says the Lord of hosts: Peoples shall yet come, even the inhabitants of many cities.The inhabitants of one city shall go to another, saying,‘ Let us go at once to entreat the favor of the Lord and to seek the Lord of hosts; I myself am going.’Many peoples and strong nations shall come to seek the Lord of hosts in Jerusalem and to entreat the favor of the Lord.Thus says the Lord of hosts: In those days ten men from the nations of every tongue shall take hold of the robe of a Jew, saying,‘ Let us go with you, for we have heard that God is with you.’”

You shall leave your name to my chosen for a curse, and the Lord God will put you to death, but his servants he will call by another name,So that he who blesses himself in the land shall bless himself by the God of truth, and he who takes an oath in the land shall swear by the God of truth; because the former troubles are forgotten and are hidden from my eyes.

fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.Behold, all who are incensed against you shall be put to shame and confounded; those who strive against you shall be as nothing and shall perish.You shall seek those who contend with you, but you shall not find them; those who war against you shall be as nothing at all.For I, the Lord your God, hold your right hand; it is I who say to you,“ Fear not, I am the one who helps you.”Fear not, you worm Jacob, you men of Israel! I am the one who helps you, declares the Lord; your Redeemer is the Holy One of Israel.Behold, I make of you a threshing sledge, new, sharp, and having teeth; you shall thresh the mountains and crush them, and you shall make the hills like chaff;you shall winnow them, and the wind shall carry them away, and the tempest shall scatter them. And you shall rejoice in the Lord; in the Holy One of Israel you shall glory.

Is the seed yet in the barn? Indeed, the vine, the fig tree, the pomegranate, and the olive tree have yielded nothing. But from this day on I will bless you.”

For I have bent Judah as my bow; I have made Ephraim its arrow. I will stir up your sons, O Zion, against your sons, O Greece, and wield you like a warrior’s sword.

Therefore the Lord was very angry with Israel and removed them out of his sight. None was left but the tribe of Judah only.Judah also did not keep the commandments of the Lord their God, but walked in the customs that Israel had introduced.And the Lord rejected all the descendants of Israel and afflicted them and gave them into the hand of plunderers, until he had cast them out of his sight.

“ Have you not observed that these people are saying,‘ The Lord has rejected the two clans that he chose’? Thus they have despised my people so that they are no longer a nation in their sight.

then I will cut off Israel from the land that I have given them, and the house that I have consecrated for my name I will cast out of my sight, and Israel will become a proverb and a byword among all peoples.And this house will become a heap of ruins. Everyone passing by it will be astonished and will hiss, and they will say,‘ Why has the Lord done thus to this land and to this house?’

Then all the people who were at the gate and the elders said,“ We are witnesses. May the Lord make the woman, who is coming into your house, like Rachel and Leah, who together built up the house of Israel. May you act worthily in Ephrathah and be renowned in Bethlehem,and may your house be like the house of Perez, whom Tamar bore to Judah, because of the offspring that the Lord will give you by this young woman.”

The Lord could no longer bear your evil deeds and the abominations that you committed. Therefore your land has become a desolation and a waste and a curse, without inhabitant, as it is this day.

There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is no male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.And if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s offspring, heirs according to promise.

then I will make this house like Shiloh, and I will make this city a curse for all the nations of the earth.’”

the whole land burned out with brimstone and salt, nothing sown and nothing growing, where no plant can sprout, an overthrow like that of Sodom and Gomorrah, Admah, and Zeboiim, which the Lord overthrew in his anger and wrath—all the nations will say,‘ Why has the Lord done thus to this land? What caused the heat of this great anger?’Then people will say,‘ It is because they abandoned the covenant of the Lord, the God of their fathers, which he made with them when he brought them out of the land of Egypt,and went and served other gods and worshiped them, gods whom they had not known and whom he had not allotted to them.Therefore the anger of the Lord was kindled against this land, bringing upon it all the curses written in this book,and the Lord uprooted them from their land in anger and fury and great wrath, and cast them into another land, as they are this day.’

I will take the remnant of Judah who have set their faces to come to the land of Egypt to live, and they shall all be consumed. In the land of Egypt they shall fall; by the sword and by famine they shall be consumed. From the least to the greatest, they shall die by the sword and by famine, and they shall become an oath, a horror, a curse, and a taunt.

“ Away! Unclean!” people cried at them.“ Away! Away! Do not touch!” So they became fugitives and wanderers; people said among the nations,“ They shall stay with us no longer.”

I will multiply your offspring as the stars of heaven and will give to your offspring all these lands. And in your offspring all the nations of the earth shall be blessed,

Strengthen the weak hands, and make firm the feeble knees.Say to those who have an anxious heart,“ Be strong; fear not! Behold, your God will come with vengeance, with the recompense of God. He will come and save you.”

They slice meat on the right, but are still hungry, and they devour on the left, but are not satisfied; each devours the flesh of his own arm,Manasseh devours Ephraim, and Ephraim devours Manasseh; together they are against Judah. For all this his anger has not turned away, and his hand is stretched out still.

Jerusalem and the cities of Judah, its kings and officials, to make them a desolation and a waste, a hissing and a curse, as at this day;

“ Son of man, take a stick and write on it,‘ For Judah, and the people of Israel associated with him’; then take another stick and write on it,‘ For Joseph( the stick of Ephraim) and all the house of Israel associated with him.’And join them one to another into one stick, that they may become one in your hand.And when your people say to you,‘ Will you not tell us what you mean by these?’say to them, Thus says the Lord God: Behold, I am about to take the stick of Joseph( that is in the hand of Ephraim) and the tribes of Israel associated with him. And I will join with it the stick of Judah, and make them one stick, that they may be one in my hand.

Then the remnant of Jacob shall be in the midst of many peoples like dew from the Lord, like showers on the grass, which delay not for a man nor wait for the children of man.

For the children of Israel and the children of Judah have done nothing but evil in my sight from their youth. The children of Israel have done nothing but provoke me to anger by the work of their hands, declares the Lord.This city has aroused my anger and wrath, from the day it was built to this day, so that I will remove it from my sightbecause of all the evil of the children of Israel and the children of Judah that they did to provoke me to anger— their kings and their officials, their priests and their prophets, the men of Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem.

And I said to the angel who talked with me,“ What are these?” And he said to me,“ These are the horns that have scattered Judah, Israel, and Jerusalem.”

so that in Christ Jesus the blessing of Abraham might come to the Gentiles, so that we might receive the promised Spirit through faith.
