Just as He had called, and they would not listen, so when they called, I would not listen,” says the Lord of Hosts.

万军之耶和华说：“我曾呼唤他们，他们不听；将来他们呼求我，我也不听！

萬軍之耶和華說：「我曾呼喚他們，他們不聽；將來他們呼求我，我也不聽！

我曾呼喚他們，他們不聽；照樣，將來他們呼求我，我也不聽。這是萬軍之耶和華說的。

『我呼喚，他們既怎樣不聽，那麼他們呼求，我也就照樣不聞了』：這是萬軍之永恆主說的。

萬軍之耶和華說：『既然我呼喚他們，他們不聽，那麼他們呼喚我，我也不聽。

萬軍之耶和華曰、我呼之、而彼不聽、彼呼我、我亦不聽、

萬有之主耶和華曰、昔我諭眾、眾不聽從、今眾籲我、我亦不聽、

萬有之主曰、我呼彼、彼不聽、彼籲我、我亦不聽、

“‘ When I called, they did not listen; so when they called, I would not listen,’ says the Lord Almighty.

“ When I called, they did not listen,” says the Lord.“ So when they called, I would not listen.

“ As I called, and they would not hear, so they called, and I would not hear,” says the Lord of hosts,

“ Since they refused to listen when I called to them, I would not listen when they called to me, says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies.

Therefore it happened, that just as He proclaimed and they would not hear, so they called out and I would not listen,” says the Lord of hosts.

Since I called out and you refused, extended my hand and no one paid attention,since you neglected all my counsel and did not accept my correction,I, in turn, will laugh at your calamity. I will mock when terror strikes you,when terror strikes you like a storm and your calamity comes like a whirlwind, when trouble and stress overcome you.Then they will call me, but I won’t answer; they will search for me, but won’t find me.

If they fast, I will not hear their cry of despair. If they offer burnt offering and grain offering, I will not accept them. Rather, I will finish them off by sword, famine, and plague.”

When you lift up your hands in prayer, I will refuse to look at you; even if you offer countless prayers, I will not listen. Your hands are covered with blood.

“ Therefore, this is what the Lord says: I am about to bring on them disaster that they cannot escape. They will cry out to Me, but I will not hear them.

Then they will cry out to the Lord, but He will not answer them. He will hide His face from them at that time because of the crimes they have committed.

Listen, My people, and I will admonish you. Israel, if you would only listen to Me!There must not be a strange god among you; you must not bow down to a foreign god.I am Yahweh your God, who brought you up from the land of Egypt. Open your mouth wide, and I will fill it.“ But My people did not listen to Me; Israel did not obey Me.So I gave them over to their stubborn hearts to follow their own plans.

You ask and don’t receive because you ask with wrong motives, so that you may spend it on your evil desires.

This is what the Lord says: Stand by the roadways and look. Ask about the ancient paths: Which is the way to what is good? Then take it and find rest for yourselves. But they protested,“ We won’t!”I appointed watchmen over you and said: Listen for the sound of the ram’s horn. But they protested,“ We won’t listen!”

The one who shuts his ears to the cry of the poor will himself also call out and not be answered.

“ Son of man, speak with the elders of Israel and tell them: This is what the Lord God says: Are you coming to consult Me? As I live, I will not be consulted by you.” This is the declaration of the Lord God.

Anyone who turns his ear away from hearing the law— even his prayer is detestable.

saying,“ If you knew this day what would bring peace— but now it is hidden from your eyes.For the days will come on you when your enemies will build an embankment against you, surround you, and hem you in on every side.They will crush you and your children within you to the ground, and they will not leave one stone on another in you, because you did not recognize the time of your visitation.”

“ Son of man, these men have set up idols in their hearts and have put sinful stumbling blocks before their faces. Should I be consulted by them at all?

“ Later the rest of the virgins also came and said,‘ Master, master, open up for us!’“ But he replied,‘ I assure you: I do not know you!’

“ Jerusalem, Jerusalem! She who kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to her. How often I wanted to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, but you were not willing!See, your house is abandoned to you. And I tell you, you will not see Me until the time comes when you say,‘ He who comes in the name of the Lord is the blessed One’!”

Why was no one there when I came? Why was there no one to answer when I called? Is My hand too short to redeem? Or do I have no power to deliver? Look, I dry up the sea by My rebuke; I turn the rivers into a wilderness; their fish rot because of lack of water and die of thirst.
