Yes, he will build the LORD’s temple; he will bear royal splendor and will sit on his throne and rule. There will be a priest on his throne, and there will be peaceful counsel between the two of them.

The LORD has sworn an oath and will not take it back:“ You are a priest forever according to the pattern of Melchizedek.”

On that day the root of Jesse will stand as a banner for the peoples. The nations will look to him for guidance, and his resting place will be glorious.

They will hang on him all the glory of his father’s family: the descendants and the offshoots— all the small vessels, from bowls to every kind of jar.

Therefore, holy brothers and sisters, who share in a heavenly calling, consider Jesus, the apostle and high priest of our confession.

His glory is great through your victory; you confer majesty and splendor on him.

For a child will be born for us, a son will be given to us, and the government will be on his shoulders. He will be named Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace.

I continued watching in the night visions, and suddenly one like a son of man was coming with the clouds of heaven. He approached the Ancient of Days and was escorted before him.He was given dominion and glory and a kingdom, so that those of every people, nation, and language should serve him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion that will not pass away, and his kingdom is one that will not be destroyed.

Their number was countless thousands, plus thousands of thousands.They said with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb who was slaughtered to receive power and riches and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and blessing!I heard every creature in heaven, on earth, under the earth, on the sea, and everything in them say, Blessing and honor and glory and power be to the one seated on the throne, and to the Lamb, forever and ever!

May his name endure forever; as long as the sun shines, may his fame increase. May all nations be blessed by him and call him blessed.Blessed be the LORD God, the God of Israel, who alone does wonders.Blessed be his glorious name forever; the whole earth is filled with his glory. Amen and amen.

But this man, after offering one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down at the right hand of God.He is now waiting until his enemies are made his footstool.

You made him lower than the angels for a short time; you crowned him with glory and honorand subjected everything under his feet. For in subjecting everything to him, he left nothing that is not subject to him. As it is, we do not yet see everything subjected to him.But we do see Jesus— made lower than the angels for a short time so that by God’s grace he might taste death for everyone— crowned with glory and honor because he suffered death.

Jesus has entered there on our behalf as a forerunner, because he has become a high priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek.For this Melchizedek, king of Salem, priest of God Most High, met Abraham and blessed him as he returned from defeating the kings,and Abraham gave him a tenth of everything. First, his name means king of righteousness, then also, king of Salem, meaning king of peace.Without father, mother, or genealogy, having neither beginning of days nor end of life, but resembling the Son of God, he remains a priest forever.

But now in Christ Jesus, you who were far away have been brought near by the blood of Christ.For he is our peace, who made both groups one and tore down the dividing wall of hostility. In his flesh,he made of no effect the law consisting of commands and expressed in regulations, so that he might create in himself one new man from the two, resulting in peace.He did this so that he might reconcile both to God in one body through the cross by which he put the hostility to death.He came and proclaimed the good news of peace to you who were far away and peace to those who were near.For through him we both have access in one Spirit to the Father.

Know and understand this: From the issuing of the decree to restore and rebuild Jerusalem until an Anointed One, the ruler, will be seven weeks and sixty-two weeks. It will be rebuilt with a plaza and a moat, but in difficult times.After those sixty-two weeks the Anointed One will be cut off and will have nothing. The people of the coming ruler will destroy the city and the sanctuary. The end will come with a flood, and until the end there will be war; desolations are decreed.He will make a firm covenant with many for one week, but in the middle of the week he will put a stop to sacrifice and offering. And the abomination of desolation will be on a wing of the temple until the decreed destruction is poured out on the desolator.”

who has gone into heaven and is at the right hand of God with angels, authorities, and powers subject to him.

But because he remains forever, he holds his priesthood permanently.Therefore, he is able to save completely those who come to God through him, since he always lives to intercede for them.For this is the kind of high priest we need: holy, innocent, undefiled, separated from sinners, and exalted above the heavens.He doesn’t need to offer sacrifices every day, as high priests do— first for their own sins, then for those of the people. He did this once for all time when he offered himself.For the law appoints as high priests men who are weak, but the promise of the oath, which came after the law, appoints a Son, who has been perfected forever.

His salvation is very near those who fear him, so that glory may dwell in our land.Faithful love and truth will join together; righteousness and peace will embrace.Truth will spring up from the earth, and righteousness will look down from heaven.

When he had left, Jesus said,“ Now the Son of Man is glorified, and God is glorified in him.If God is glorified in him, God will also glorify him in himself and will glorify him at once.

Then I saw heaven opened, and there was a white horse. Its rider is called Faithful and True, and with justice he judges and makes war.His eyes were like a fiery flame, and many crowns were on his head. He had a name written that no one knows except himself.He wore a robe dipped in blood, and his name is called the Word of God.The armies that were in heaven followed him on white horses, wearing pure white linen.A sharp sword came from his mouth, so that he might strike the nations with it. He will rule them with an iron rod. He will also trample the winepress of the fierce anger of God, the Almighty.And he has a name written on his robe and on his thigh: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.

In his days Judah will be saved, and Israel will dwell securely. This is the name he will be called: The LORD Is Our Righteousness.

He exercised this power in Christ by raising him from the dead and seating him at his right hand in the heavens—far above every ruler and authority, power and dominion, and every title given, not only in this age but also in the one to come.And he subjected everything under his feet and appointed him as head over everything for the church,which is his body, the fullness of the one who fills all things in every way.

Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens— Jesus the Son of God— let us hold fast to our confession.For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who has been tempted in every way as we are, yet without sin.Therefore, let us approach the throne of grace with boldness, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in time of need.

Melchizedek, king of Salem, brought out bread and wine; he was a priest to God Most High.

“ To the one who conquers I will give the right to sit with me on my throne, just as I also conquered and sat down with my Father on his throne.

Instead he emptied himself by assuming the form of a servant, taking on the likeness of humanity. And when he had come as a man,he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death— even to death on a cross.For this reason God highly exalted him and gave him the name that is above every name,so that at the name of Jesus every knee will bow— in heaven and on earth and under the earth—and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Mighty warrior, strap your sword at your side. In your majesty and splendor—in your splendor ride triumphantly in the cause of truth, humility, and justice. May your right hand show your awe-inspiring acts.

He will stand and shepherd them in the strength of the LORD, in the majestic name of the LORD his God. They will live securely, for then his greatness will extend to the ends of the earth.

Take silver and gold, make a crown, and place it on the head of Joshua son of Jehozadak, the high priest.

“ These are the two anointed ones,” he said,“ who stand by the Lord of the whole earth.”

Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Though the mountains move and the hills shake, my love will not be removed from you and my covenant of peace will not be shaken,” says your compassionate LORD.
