People of Judah, ask the Lord to send rain in the spring. He is the one who sends the thunderstorms. He sends down showers of rain on all people. He gives everyone the plants in the fields.

Ask the Lord for rain in the springtime; it is the Lord who sends the thunderstorms. He gives showers of rain to all people, and plants of the field to everyone.

Ask rain from the Lord in the season of the spring rain, from the Lord who makes the storm clouds, and he will give them showers of rain, to everyone the vegetation in the field.

Ask the Lord for rain in the spring, for he makes the storm clouds. And he will send showers of rain so every field becomes a lush pasture.

Ask the LORD for rain in the season of spring rain. The LORD makes the rain clouds, and he will give them showers of rain and crops in the field for everyone.

Ask for rain from the Lord at the time of the spring rain— The Lord who makes the storm winds; And He will give them showers of rain, vegetation in the field to each person.

Ask the Lord for rain In the time of the latter rain. The Lord will make flashing clouds; He will give them showers of rain, Grass in the field for everyone.

Ask ye of Jehovah rain in the time of the latter rain, even of Jehovah that maketh lightnings; and he will give them showers of rain, to every one grass in the field.

Ask the LORD for rain in the season of the late spring rains– the LORD who causes thunderstorms– and he will give everyone showers of rain and green growth in the field.

Ask of Yahweh rain in the spring time, Yahweh who makes storm clouds, and he gives rain showers to everyone for the plants in the field.

Brothers and sisters, be patient until the Lord comes. See how the farmer waits for the land to produce its rich crop. See how patient the farmer is for the fall and spring rains.

I will pour out water on the thirsty land. I will make streams flow on the dry ground. I will pour out my Spirit on your children. I will pour out my blessing on their children after them.

So confess your sins to one another. Pray for one another so that you might be healed. The prayer of a godly person is powerful. Things happen because of it.Elijah was a human being, just as we are. He prayed hard that it wouldn’t rain. And it didn’t rain on the land for three and a half years.Then he prayed again. That time it rained. And the earth produced its crops.

When he thunders, the waters in the heavens roar. He makes clouds rise from one end of the earth to the other. He sends lightning along with the rain. He brings the wind out from his storerooms.

I will make them and the places surrounding my holy mountain of Zion a blessing. I will send down rain at the right time. There will be showers of blessing.

Do any of the worthless gods of the nations bring rain? Do the skies send down showers all by themselves? No. Lord our God, you send the rain. So we put our hope in you. You are the one who does all these things.

The Lord will send rain on the seeds you plant in the ground. The crops that grow will be rich and plentiful. At that time your cattle will eat grass in rolling meadows.

“ Ask, and it will be given to you. Search, and you will find. Knock, and the door will be opened to you.Everyone who asks will receive. The one who searches will find. The door will be opened to the one who knocks.

The Lord and King says,“ Once again I will answer Israel’s prayer. Here is what I will do for them. I will multiply them as if they were sheep.

I will turn my vineyard into a dry and empty desert. It will not be pruned or taken care of. Thorns and bushes will grow there. I will command the clouds not to rain on it.”

“ He makes mist rise from the water. Then it falls as rain into the streams.The clouds pour down their moisture. Rain showers fall on people everywhere.Who can understand how God spreads out the clouds? Who can explain how he thunders from his home in heaven?See how he scatters his lightning around him! He lights up the deepest parts of the ocean.The rain he sends makes things grow for the nations. He provides them with plenty of food.

Elijah was from Tishbe in the land of Gilead. He said to Ahab,“ I serve the Lord. He is the God of Israel. You can be sure that he lives. And you can be just as sure that there won’t be any dew or rain on the whole land. There won’t be any during the next few years. It won’t come until I say so.”

The Lord waters the mountains from his palace high in the clouds. The earth is filled with the things he has made.

Your hearts are as hard as a field that has not been plowed. If you change your ways, you will produce good crops. So plant the seeds of doing what is right. Then you will harvest the fruit of your faithful love. It is time to seek the Lord. When you do, he will come and shower his blessings on you.

Elijah said to Ahab,“ Go. Eat and drink. I can hear the sound of a heavy rain.”So Ahab went off to eat and drink. But Elijah climbed to the top of Mount Carmel. He bent down toward the ground. Then he put his face between his knees.“ Go and look toward the sea,” he told his servant. So he went up and looked.“ I don’t see anything there,” he said. Seven times Elijah said,“ Go back.”The seventh time the servant said,“ I see a cloud. It’s as small as a man’s hand. It’s coming up over the sea.” Elijah said,“ Go to Ahab. Tell him,‘ Tie your chariot to your horse. Go down to Jezreel before the rain stops you.’ ”Black clouds filled the sky. The wind came up, and a heavy rain began to fall. Ahab rode off to Jezreel.

The sky above you will be like bronze. The ground beneath you will be like iron.

When I thunder, the waters in the heavens roar. I make clouds rise from one end of the earth to the other. I send lightning with the rain. I bring out the wind from my storerooms.

People of Zion, be glad. Be joyful because of what the Lord your God has done. He has given you the right amount of rain in the fall. That’s because he is faithful. He has sent you plenty of showers. He has sent fall and spring rains alike, just as he did before.Your threshing floors will be covered with grain. Olive oil and fresh wine will spill over from the places where they are stored.

“ When I hear the thunder, my heart pounds. It beats faster inside me.Listen! Listen to the roar of his voice! Listen to the thunder that comes from him!He sends his lightning across the sky. It reaches from one end of the earth to the other.Next comes the sound of his roaring thunder. He thunders with his majestic voice. When his voice fills the air, he doesn’t hold anything back.God’s voice thunders in wonderful ways. We’ll never understand the great things he does.He says to the snow,‘ Fall on the earth.’ He tells the rain,‘ Pour down your mighty waters.’

Jacob’s people who are still left alive will be scattered among many nations. They will be like dew the Lord has sent. Dew doesn’t depend on any human being. They will be like rain that falls on the grass. Rain doesn’t wait for someone to give it orders.

They waited for me just as they would wait for rain showers. They drank my words just as they would drink the spring rain.

You take care of the land and water it. You make it able to grow many crops. You fill your streams with water. You do that to provide the people with grain. That’s what you have decided to do for the land.

When that day comes, you will no longer ask me for anything. What I’m about to tell you is true. My Father will give you anything you ask for in my name.

When a king’s face is happy, it means life. His favor is like rain in the spring.

“ I also held back rain from you. The time to harvest crops was still three months away. I sent rain on one town. But I held it back from another. One field had rain. But another had no rain and dried up.

May he be like rain falling on the fields. May he be like showers watering the earth.

So be faithful. Obey the commands the Lord your God is giving you today. Love him. Serve him with all your heart and with all your soul.Then the Lord will send rain on your land at the right time. He’ll send rain in the fall and in the spring. You will be able to gather your grain. You will also be able to make olive oil and fresh wine.

Let’s recognize him as the Lord. Let’s keep trying to know him. You can be sure the sun will rise. And you can be just as sure the Lord will appear. He will come to renew us like the winter rains. He will be like the spring rains that water the earth.”

I planted the seed. Apollos watered it. But God has been making it grow.
