Ask the LORD for rain in the season of the late spring rains– the LORD who causes thunderstorms– and he will give everyone showers of rain and green growth in the field.

Ask the Lord for rain in the springtime; it is the Lord who sends the thunderstorms. He gives showers of rain to all people, and plants of the field to everyone.

People of Judah, ask the Lord to send rain in the spring. He is the one who sends the thunderstorms. He sends down showers of rain on all people. He gives everyone the plants in the fields.

Ask rain from the Lord in the season of the spring rain, from the Lord who makes the storm clouds, and he will give them showers of rain, to everyone the vegetation in the field.

Ask the Lord for rain in the spring, for he makes the storm clouds. And he will send showers of rain so every field becomes a lush pasture.

Ask the LORD for rain in the season of spring rain. The LORD makes the rain clouds, and he will give them showers of rain and crops in the field for everyone.

Ask of Yahweh rain in the spring time, Yahweh who makes storm clouds, and he gives rain showers to everyone for the plants in the field.

So be patient, brothers and sisters, until the Lord’s return. Think of how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the ground and is patient for it until it receives the early and late rains.

For I will pour water on the parched ground and cause streams to flow on the dry land. I will pour my spirit on your offspring and my blessing on your children.

So confess your sins to one another and pray for one another so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great effectiveness.Elijah was a human being like us, and he prayed earnestly that it would not rain and there was no rain on the land for three years and six months!Then he prayed again, and the sky gave rain and the land sprouted with a harvest.

When his voice thunders, the heavenly ocean roars. He makes the clouds rise from the far-off horizons. He makes the lightning flash out in the midst of the rain. He unleashes the wind from the places where he stores it.

I will turn them and the regions around my hill into a blessing. I will make showers come down in their season; they will be showers that bring blessing.

Do any of the worthless idols of the nations cause rain to fall? Do the skies themselves send showers? Is it not you, O Lord our God, who does this? So we put our hopes in you because you alone do all this.”

He will water the seed you plant in the ground, and the ground will produce crops in abundance. At that time your cattle will graze in wide pastures.

“ Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened for you.For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.

“ This is what the sovereign LORD says: I will allow the house of Israel to ask me to do this for them: I will multiply their people like sheep.

I will make it a wasteland; no one will prune its vines or hoe its ground, and thorns and briers will grow there. I will order the clouds not to drop any rain on it.

He draws up drops of water; they distill the rain into its mist,which the clouds pour down and shower on humankind abundantly.Who can understand the spreading of the clouds, the thunderings of his pavilion?See how he scattered his lightning about him; he has covered the depths of the sea.It is by these that he judges the nations and supplies food in abundance.

Elijah the Tishbite, from Tishbe in Gilead, said to Ahab,“ As certainly as the LORD God of Israel lives( whom I serve), there will be no dew or rain in the years ahead unless I give the command.”

He waters the mountains from the upper rooms of his palace; the earth is full of the fruit you cause to grow.

Sow righteousness for yourselves, reap unfailing love. Break up the unplowed ground for yourselves, for it is time to seek the LORD, until he comes and showers deliverance on you.

Then Elijah told Ahab,“ Go on up and eat and drink, for the sound of a heavy rainstorm can be heard.”So Ahab went on up to eat and drink, while Elijah climbed to the top of Carmel. He bent down toward the ground and put his face between his knees.He told his servant,“ Go on up and look in the direction of the sea.” So he went on up, looked, and reported,“ There is nothing.” Seven times Elijah sent him to look.The seventh time the servant said,“ Look, a small cloud, the size of the palm of a man’s hand, is rising up from the sea.” Elijah then said,“ Go and tell Ahab,‘ Hitch up the chariots and go down, so that the rain won’t overtake you.’”Meanwhile the sky was covered with dark clouds, the wind blew, and there was a heavy rainstorm. Ahab rode toward Jezreel.

The sky above your heads will be bronze and the earth beneath you iron.

When his voice thunders, the waters in the heavens roar. He makes the clouds rise from the far-off horizons. He makes the lightning flash out in the midst of the rain. He unleashes the wind from the places where he stores it.

Citizens of Zion, rejoice! Be glad because of what the LORD your God has done! For he has given to you the early rains as vindication. He has sent to you the rains– both the early and the late rains as formerly.The threshing floors are full of grain; the vats overflow with fresh wine and olive oil.

At this also my heart pounds and leaps from its place.Listen carefully to the thunder of his voice, to the rumbling that proceeds from his mouth.Under the whole heaven he lets it go, even his lightning to the far corners of the earth.After that a voice roars; he thunders with an exalted voice, and he does not hold back his lightning bolts when his voice is heard.God thunders with his voice in marvelous ways; he does great things beyond our understanding.For to the snow he says,‘ Fall to earth,’ and to the torrential rains,‘ Pour down.’

Those survivors from Jacob will live in the midst of many nations. They will be like the dew the LORD sends, like the rain on the grass, that does not hope for men to come or wait around for humans to arrive.

They waited for me as people wait for the rain, and they opened their mouths as for the spring rains.

You visit the earth and give it rain; you make it rich and fertile with overflowing streams full of water. You provide grain for them, for you prepare the earth to yield its crops.

At that time you will ask me nothing. I tell you the solemn truth, whatever you ask the Father in my name he will give you.

In the light of the king’s face there is life, and his favor is like the clouds of the spring rain.

“ I withheld rain from you three months before the harvest. I gave rain to one city, but not to another. One field would get rain, but the field that received no rain dried up.

He will descend like rain on the mown grass, like showers that drench the earth.

Now, if you pay close attention to my commandments that I am giving you today and love the LORD your God and serve him with all your mind and being,then he promises,“ I will send rain for your land in its season, the autumn and the spring rains, so that you may gather in your grain, new wine, and olive oil.

So let us acknowledge him! Let us seek to acknowledge the LORD! He will come to our rescue as certainly as the appearance of the dawn, as certainly as the winter rain comes, as certainly as the spring rain that waters the land.”

I planted, Apollos watered, but God caused it to grow.
