Furthermore, people are afraid of a high place and of terrors on the road; the almond tree blossoms, the grasshopper drags itself along, and the caper berry is ineffective. For man goes to his eternal home while the mourners move around in the street.

then the dust will return to the earth as it was, and the spirit will return to God who gave it.

But a man dies and lies prostrate. A person passes away, and where is he?As water evaporates from the sea, And a river becomes parched and dried up,So a man lies down and does not rise. Until the heavens no longer exist, He will not awake nor be woken from his sleep.

For David, after he had served God’s purpose in his own generation, fell asleep, and was buried among his fathers and underwent decay;

The Jews said to Him,“ Now we know that You have a demon. Abraham died, and the prophets as well; and yet You say,‘ If anyone follows My word, he will never taste of death.’

As for the days of our life, they contain seventy years, Or if due to strength, eighty years, Yet their pride is only trouble and tragedy; For it quickly passes, and we disappear.

The former priests, on the one hand, existed in greater numbers because they were prevented by death from continuing;Jesus, on the other hand, because He continues forever, holds His priesthood permanently.

For I have taken all this to my heart, even to examine it all, that righteous people, wise people, and their deeds are in the hand of God. People do not know whether it will be love or hatred; anything awaits them.It is the same for all. There is one fate for the righteous and for the wicked; for the good, for the clean and the unclean; for the person who offers a sacrifice and for the one who does not sacrifice. As the good person is, so is the sinner; the one who swears an oath is just as the one who is afraid to swear an oath.This is an evil in everything that is done under the sun, that there is one fate for everyone. Furthermore, the hearts of the sons of mankind are full of evil, and insanity is in their hearts throughout their lives. Afterward they go to the dead.

And just as it is destined for people to die once, and after this comes judgment,

A generation goes and a generation comes, But the earth remains forever.

to remember the words spoken beforehand by the holy prophets and the commandment of the Lord and Savior spoken by your apostles.Know this first of all, that in the last days mockers will come with their mocking, following after their own lusts,and saying,“ Where is the promise of His coming? For ever since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue just as they were from the beginning of creation.”
