and not to steal from them, but to show that they can be fully trusted, so that in every way they will make the teaching about God our Savior attractive.

Gehazi, the prophet Elisha’s servant, thought,“ Look, my master did not accept what this Syrian Naaman offered him. As certainly as the LORD lives, I will run after him and accept something from him.”So Gehazi ran after Naaman. When Naaman saw someone running after him, he got down from his chariot to meet him and asked,“ Is everything all right?”He answered,“ Everything is fine. My master sent me with this message,‘ Look, two servants of the prophets just arrived from the Ephraimite hill country. Please give them a talent of silver and two suits of clothes.’”Naaman said,“ Please accept two talents of silver. He insisted, and tied up two talents of silver in two bags, along with two suits of clothes. He gave them to two of his servants and they carried them for Gehazi.When he arrived at the hill, he took them from the servants and put them in the house. Then he sent the men on their way.

But he refused, saying to his master’s wife,“ Look, my master does not give any thought to his household with me here, and everything that he owns he has put into my care.There is no one greater in this household than I am. He has withheld nothing from me except you because you are his wife. So how could I do such a great evil and sin against God?”

“ The one who is faithful in a very little is also faithful in much, and the one who is dishonest in a very little is also dishonest in much.

Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is worthy of respect, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if something is excellent or praiseworthy, think about these things.

Ahimelech replied to the king,“ Who among all your servants is faithful like David? He is the king’s son-in-law, the leader of your bodyguard, and honored in your house!

Those who are under the yoke as slaves must regard their own masters as deserving of full respect. This will prevent the name of God and Christian teaching from being discredited.

I will favor the honest people of the land, and allow them to live with me. Those who walk in the way of integrity will attend me.

Now what is sought in stewards is that one be found faithful.

From Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the command of God our Savior and of Christ Jesus our hope,

If someone spreads false teachings and does not agree with sound words( that is, those of our Lord Jesus Christ) and with the teaching that accords with godliness,

The man replied,‘ A hundred measures of olive oil.’ The manager said to him,‘ Take your bill, sit down quickly, and write fifty.’Then he said to another,‘ And how much do you owe?’ The second man replied,‘ A hundred measures of wheat.’ The manager said to him,‘ Take your bill, and write eighty.’The master commended the dishonest manager because he acted shrewdly. For the people of this world are more shrewd in dealing with their contemporaries than the people of light.
