我保罗做基督耶稣的奴仆、蒙召的使徒，是为了神的福音被分别出来的。

如果有人传讲别的教义，不符合我们主耶稣基督的健全话语以及那合乎敬神的教导，

主耶稣神性的大能，因我们真正认识以自己的荣耀和美德召唤我们的那一位，就把一切有关生命和敬神的事都赐给了我们。

要拒绝愚拙无知的辩论，因为你知道这些只会引起争斗，

事实上，神拯救万民的恩典已经显明出来了。这恩典管教我们，使我们拒绝不敬神的事和地上的欲望，在今世能过自制、公义、敬神的生活，

既然这一切都要如此被废除，那么，你们应该做什么样的人呢？应该行为圣洁、敬畏神，

温柔地管教那些反对的人；或许神会赐给这些人悔改的心，到真理的知识当中。

也不可关注那些编造的故事和无穷的家谱：这些事只带来疑惑，而无助于神所赐的信仰上的任务。这样吩咐的目的是爱。爱是发自洁净的心、无愧的良心，以及不虚假的信仰。

蒙主所爱的弟兄们，我们应该为你们常常感谢神，因为神为了救恩的缘故，就藉着在圣灵里的分别为圣，以及真理的信仰，拣选了你们做为初熟的果子。为此，神也藉着我们的福音召唤了你们，使你们获得我们主耶稣基督的荣耀。

正如大家所承认的，敬神的奥秘是极大的：神以肉身显现，被圣灵证实，被天使观看，被传于万邦，被世人信仰，被接在荣耀里。

他愿意所有的人都得救，来到真理的知识当中。

好让他们的心受到安慰，在爱中结合在一起，以致得到由悟性的确信不疑而来的一切丰盛，直到真正认识神的奥秘，就是基督——

外邦人听了这话就感到欢喜，不住地荣耀主的福音，凡是被预定进入永恒生命的人都信了。
