君王的女兒在宮裏極其榮華，她的衣服是金線繡的；

父親卻吩咐僕人：『快把那上好的袍子拿出來給他穿，把戒指戴在他指頭上，把鞋穿在他腳上，

不緊隨元首；其實，由於他全身藉着關節筋絡才得到滋養，互相聯絡，靠上帝所賜的成長而成長。

「你要以刺繡的手藝做一個決斷的胸袋，和做以弗得的方法一樣，用金色、藍色、紫色、朱紅色紗，和搓的細麻縫製。

最重要的是：你們行事為人要與基督的福音相稱，這樣，無論我來見你們，或不在你們那裏，都可以聽到你們的景況，知道你們同有一個心志，站立得穩，為福音的信仰齊心努力，

這像的頭是純金的，胸膛和膀臂是銀的，腹部和腰是銅的，

我們反而要用愛心說誠實話，各方面向着基督長進，連於元首基督，靠着他全身都連接得緊湊，百節各按各職，照着各體的功用彼此相助，使身體漸漸增長，在愛中建立自己。

又用和平的福音當作預備走路的鞋穿在腳上。
