Beautiful for situation, the joy of the whole earth,[ is] mount Zion,[ on] the sides of the north, the city of the great King.

And Jeroboam’s wife arose, and departed, and came to Tirzah:[ and] when she came to the threshold of the door, the child died;

O my dove,[ that art] in the clefts of the rock, in the secret[ places] of the stairs, let me see thy countenance, let me hear thy voice; for sweet[ is] thy voice, and thy countenance[ is] comely.

And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.

All that pass by clap[ their] hands at thee; they hiss and wag their head at the daughter of Jerusalem,[ saying, Is] this the city that[ men] call The perfection of beauty, The joy of the whole earth?

Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty, God hath shined.

Thou[ art] all fair, my love;[ there is] no spot in thee.

Thus wast thou decked with gold and silver; and thy raiment[ was of] fine linen, and silk, and broidered work; thou didst eat fine flour, and honey, and oil: and thou wast exceeding beautiful, and thou didst prosper into a kingdom.And thy renown went forth among the heathen for thy beauty: for it[ was] perfect through my comeliness, which I had put upon thee, saith the Lord GOD.

Man is like to vanity: his days[ are] as a shadow that passeth away.Bow thy heavens, O LORD, and come down: touch the mountains, and they shall smoke.Cast forth lightning, and scatter them: shoot out thine arrows, and destroy them.Send thine hand from above; rid me, and deliver me out of great waters, from the hand of strange children;Whose mouth speaketh vanity, and their right hand[ is] a right hand of falsehood.

And it came to pass, when Baasha heard[ thereof], that he left off building of Ramah, and dwelt in Tirzah.

In the third year of Asa king of Judah began Baasha the son of Ahijah to reign over all Israel in Tirzah, twenty and four years.

And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it.

I sleep, but my heart waketh:[ it is] the voice of my beloved that knocketh,[ saying], Open to me, my sister, my love, my dove, my undefiled: for my head is filled with dew,[ and] my locks with the drops of the night.

How goodly are thy tents, O Jacob,[ and] thy tabernacles, O Israel!As the valleys are they spread forth, as gardens by the river’s side, as the trees of lign aloes which the LORD hath planted,[ and] as cedar trees beside the waters.He shall pour the water out of his buckets, and his seed[ shall be] in many waters, and his king shall be higher than Agag, and his kingdom shall be exalted.God brought him forth out of Egypt; he hath as it were the strength of an unicorn: he shall eat up the nations his enemies, and shall break their bones, and pierce[ them] through with his arrows.He couched, he lay down as a lion, and as a great lion: who shall stir him up? Blessed[ is] he that blesseth thee, and cursed[ is] he that curseth thee.

And the armies[ which were] in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.And he hath on[ his] vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.

Behold, thou[ art] fair, my love; behold, thou[ art] fair; thou[ hast] doves’ eyes.

That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.

I[ am] black, but comely, O ye daughters of Jerusalem, as the tents of Kedar, as the curtains of Solomon.
