I will get up now and go about the city, through its streets and squares; I will search for the one my heart loves. So I looked for him but did not find him.

有一個人，是從神那裏差來的，名叫約翰。

你們要走遍耶路撒冷的街市，在廣場尋找，看是否有人行公平、求誠實；若有，我就赦免這城。

還有，你們要知道，現在正是該從睡夢中醒來的時候了；因為我們得救，現在比初信的時候更近了。

聽從我，天天在我門口守望，在我門框旁等候的，那人有福了。

你們要醒悟為善，不再犯罪；因為有人不認識神。我說這話是要使你們羞愧。

你是作我保障的神，為何丟棄我呢？我為何因仇敵的欺壓時常哀痛呢？求你發出你的亮光和信實，好引導我，帶我到你的聖山，到你的居所！我就走到神的祭壇，到賜我喜樂的神那裏。神，我的神啊，我要彈琴稱謝你！我的心哪，你為何憂悶？為何在我裏面煩躁？應當仰望神，我還要稱謝他，我當面的拯救，我的神。

她站立在十字路口，在道路旁高處的頂上，在城門旁，城門口，入口處，她呼喊：

「難道主要永遠丟棄我，不再施恩嗎？難道他的慈愛永遠窮盡，他的應許世世廢棄嗎？難道神忘記施恩，因發怒就止住他的憐憫嗎？」（細拉）我說，至高者右手的能力已改變，這是我的悲哀。

因為使一切顯露出來的就是光。所以有話說：「你這睡着的人醒過來吧！要從死人中復活，基督要光照你了。」

無人求告你的名，無人奮力抓住你。你轉臉不顧我們，你使我們因罪孽而融化。

我起來，要為我的良人開門。我的兩手滴下沒藥，我的指頭有沒藥汁滴在門閂上。

那僕人回來，把這些事都告訴了主人。這家的主人就發怒，對僕人說：『快出去，到城裏大街小巷，領那貧窮的、殘疾的、失明的、瘸腿的來。』僕人說：『主啊，你所吩咐的已經辦了，還有空位。』主人對僕人說：『你出去，到大街小巷強拉人進來，坐滿我的屋子。

我的神，我的神，為甚麼離棄我？為甚麼遠離不救我，不聽我的呻吟？我的神啊，我白日呼求，你不應允；夜間呼求，也不得安寧。

智慧在街市上呼喊，在廣場上高聲吶喊，在熱鬧街頭呼叫，在城門口，在城中，發出言語，說：

你的瀑布發聲，深淵就與深淵響應，你的波浪洪濤漫過我身。白晝，耶和華必施慈愛；黑夜，我要歌頌祈禱賜我生命的神。我要對神－我的磐石說：「你為何忘記我呢？我為何因仇敵的欺壓時常哀痛呢？」

他回到門徒那裏，見他們睡着了，就對彼得說：「怎麼樣？你們不能同我警醒一小時嗎？總要警醒禱告，免得陷入試探。你們心靈固然願意，肉體卻軟弱了。」
