I will get up now and go about the city, through its streets and squares; I will search for the one my heart loves. So I looked for him but did not find him.

主將永遠遺棄我乎、不再施恩乎、主憐恤之恩、竟已窮盡乎、所應許之言、永世不踐之乎、天主乃忘施恩乎、因震怒而絕憐恤乎、細拉、我又云、我之災難、今雖如此、而更變苦境、仍在至上主之右手、

故云寢者當醒、由死而起、則基督必光照爾、○

籲主名者無人、盡意賴主盡意賴主或作奮勉恃主者無人、主掩面不顧我、緣我罪愆、主使我消亡、

起、欲為我良人啟門、我手滴以沒藥、我指滴以沒藥之汁、滴於門楗、

僕歸、以此諸言告主人、主人怒、命僕曰、速往邑之衢巷、引諸貧乏、殘廢、瞽者、跛者來、僕曰、主人、如爾命已行、尚有餘座、主人語僕曰、出往道途及藩籬間、遇人則強之入、俾滿我室、

我天主、我天主、因何遠離不救我、不聽我籲懇之言、我天主歟、我白晝呼籲、主不垂聽、我夜間呼籲、不得寂靜、寂靜或作安寧

上智在通衢宣呼、在街市揚聲、在諠譁之路頭大聲而呼、在城門之口在城中發言、

瀑布飛濤、聲聲相應、主之波浪、沖激我身、主日間仍復施恩、夜間我歌頌主、祈求賜我生命之天主、我向天主云、我倚主如磐、因何忘我、因何使我受仇敵凌虐、時常悲哀、

遂就門徒、見其寢、謂彼得曰、爾曹不能同我警醒片時乎、當警醒祈禱、免入誘惑、心固願而身弱矣、
