For what the law was powerless to do because it was weakened by the flesh, God did by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh to be a sin offering. And so he condemned sin in the flesh,

The written law was made weak by the power of sin. But God did what the written law could not do. He made his Son to be like those who live under the power of sin. God sent him to be an offering for sin. Jesus suffered God’s judgment against our sin.

基督已贖我儕脫律之詛、以其為我儕服詛、記有之、凡懸於木者見詛也、

然則律與上帝之許相反乎、非也、若賜以能致生之律、則義誠由律矣、

身負我儕之罪而懸於木、致我既死於罪、而生於義、因彼之損傷、而爾得醫、

蓋於上帝前、無人因行律見義、第由律知罪耳、○

故凡事宜如兄弟、得於上帝之事、為矜恤忠信之大祭司、為民罪作挽回之祭、

非我嘗愛上帝、乃上帝愛我、遣其子為我罪作挽回之祭、愛即在於此也、愛友乎、上帝既如是愛我儕、則我亦當相愛、從未有見上帝者、若相愛、則上帝恆在我中、而其愛亦成全於我中矣、由是知我儕恆在彼中、彼恆在我中、因已賜其神於我也、父遣子為救世者、此我儕所見而證者也、

惟彼既為罪而獻一祭、以至永久、則坐上帝右、

夫道成人身、寓我儕中、充以恩寵真理、我儕見其榮、如天父獨生子之榮焉、

蓋我之大祭司、非不能體恤我荏弱、乃凡事見試、與我無異、惟無罪耳、

摩西舉蛇於野、人子亦必如是見舉、致凡信者於彼而有永生、○蓋上帝愛世、至賜其獨生子、俾凡信之者、免沉淪而有永生、因上帝遣子入世、非以鞫世、乃令由之而獲救、

有二盜同釘、一左一右、

彼不惜己子、為我眾舍之、豈不並以萬物賜我歟、

猶太人又呼素瞽者曰、爾宜歸榮上帝、我知斯人乃罪人也、

即為兄弟骨肉之親、見絕於基督、亦所願也、
