Now in the same way the Spirit also helps our weakness; for we do not know what to pray for as we should, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words;

況且，聖靈也照樣扶助我們的軟弱。事實上，我們不知道該禱告什麼、如何禱告，但聖靈卻親自用說不出的嘆息，為我們代求。

且聖神亦如是助我儕之弱、蓋我不知宜如何祈禱、惟聖神以莫可言之太息、代我懇求、

我儕荏弱、聖神助我、我不識所當禱者、聖神以不可言之嘅嘆代我禱也、

且我儕懦弱、聖神助我、蓋我儕不知所當禱者、聖神以不可言之歎息代我禱也、

即聖神因鑒於吾人之闇弱、而昧於祈禱之道、亦多方相助、以不可思議之歎息、而為吾人代求焉。

In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans.

In the same way, the Holy Spirit helps us when we are weak. We don’t know what we should pray for. But the Spirit himself prays for us. He prays through groans too deep for words.

Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words.

And the Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness. For example, we don’t know what God wants us to pray for. But the Holy Spirit prays for us with groanings that cannot be expressed in words.

With every prayer and request, pray at all times in the Spirit, and with this in view, be alert with all perseverance and every request for all the saints,

Because you are sons, God has sent the Spirit of His Son into our hearts, crying out,“ Abba! Father!”

But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit,keep yourselves in the love of God, looking forward to the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to eternal life.

I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, so that He may be with you forever;

for through Him we both have our access in one Spirit to the Father.

For you have not received a spirit of slavery leading to fear again, but you have received a spirit of adoption as sons and daughters by which we cry out,“ Abba! Father!”

The Lord has heard my pleading, The Lord receives my prayer.

You ask and do not receive, because you ask with the wrong motives, so that you may spend what you request on your pleasures.

And being in agony, He was praying very fervently; and His sweat became like drops of blood, falling down upon the ground].

Now we who are strong ought to bear the weaknesses of those without strength, and not just please ourselves.

“ And I will pour out on the house of David and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem the Spirit of grace and of pleading, so that they will look at Me whom they pierced; and they will mourn for Him, like one mourning for an only son, and they will weep bitterly over Him like the bitter weeping over a firstborn.

But Jesus replied,“ You do not know what you are asking. Are you able to drink the cup that I am about to drink?” They* said to Him,“ We are able.”

For we do not have a high priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who has been tempted in all things just as we are, yet without sin.

For indeed, we who are in this tent groan, being burdened, because we do not want to be unclothed but to be clothed, so that what is mortal will be swallowed up by life.

Listen to my prayer, God; And do not hide Yourself from my pleading.Give Your attention to me and answer me; I am restless in my complaint and severely distracted,

In behalf of such a man I will boast; but in my own behalf I will not boast, except regarding my weaknesses.For if I do wish to boast I will not be foolish, for I will be speaking the truth; but I refrain from this, so that no one will credit me with more than he sees in me or hears from me.Because of the extraordinary greatness of the revelations, for this reason, to keep me from exalting myself, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, a messenger of Satan to torment me— to keep me from exalting myself!Concerning this I pleaded with the Lord three times that it might leave me.And He has said to me,“ My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness.” Most gladly, therefore, I will rather boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may dwell in me.Therefore I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in distresses, in persecutions, in difficulties, in behalf of Christ; for when I am weak, then I am strong.

My voice rises to God, and I will cry aloud; My voice rises to God, and He will listen to me.In the day of my trouble I sought the Lord; In the night my hand was stretched out and did not grow weary; My soul refused to be comforted.When I remember God, then I am restless; When I sigh, then my spirit feels weak. Selah

Therefore my spirit feels weak within me; My heart is appalled within me.I remember the days of old; I meditate on all Your accomplishments; I reflect on the work of Your hands.I spread out my hands to You; My soul longs for You, like a weary land. SelahAnswer me quickly, Lord, my spirit fails; Do not hide Your face from me, Or I will be the same as those who go down to the pit.

As the deer pants for the water brooks, So my soul pants for You, God.My soul thirsts for God, for the living God; When shall I come and appear before God?My tears have been my food day and night, While they say to me all day long,“ Where is your God?”I remember these things and pour out my soul within me. For I used to go over with the multitude and walk them to the house of God, With a voice of joy and thanksgiving, a multitude celebrating a festival.Why are you in despair, my soul? And why are you restless within me? Wait for God, for I will again praise Him For the help of His presence, my God.

Lord, You have heard the desire of the humble; You will strengthen their heart, You will make Your ear attentive

Lord, the God of my salvation, I have cried out by day and in the night before You.Let my prayer come before You; Incline Your ear to my cry!For my soul has had enough troubles, And my life has approached Sheol.

My soul languishes for Your salvation; I wait for Your word.My eyes fail with longing for Your word, While I say,“ When will You comfort me?”

To hear the groaning of the prisoner, To set free those who were doomed to death,

It happened that while Jesus was praying in a certain place, when He had finished, one of His disciples said to Him,“ Lord, teach us to pray, just as John also taught his disciples.”And He said to them,“ When you pray, say:‘ Father, hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come.Give us each day our daily bread.And forgive us our sins, For we ourselves also forgive everyone who is indebted to us. And do not lead us into temptation.’ ”And He said to them,“ Suppose one of you has a friend, and goes to him at midnight and says to him,‘ Friend, lend me three loaves,because a friend of mine has come to me from a journey and I have nothing to serve him’;and from inside he answers and says,‘ Do not bother me; the door has already been shut and my children and I are in bed; I cannot get up and give you anything.’I tell you, even if he will not get up and give him anything just because he is his friend, yet because of his shamelessness he will get up and give him as much as he needs.“ So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks, it will be opened.Now which one of you fathers will his son ask for a fish, and instead of a fish, he will give him a snake?Or he will even ask for an egg, and his father will give him a scorpion?So if you, despite being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him?”

he can deal gently with the ignorant and misguided, since he himself also is clothed in weakness;

Because of the loudness of my groaning My bones cling to my flesh.

I am weary with my crying; my throat is parched; My eyes fail while I wait for my God.

Wretched man that I am! Who will set me free from the body of this death?

And my soul is greatly horrified; But You, Lord— how long?

For indeed, in this tent we groan, longing to be clothed with our dwelling from heaven,
