For if you live after the flesh, you must die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live.

從欲者死、惟藉聖神以滅吾身情欲、則生、

爾曹若從肉體而行、必死、若以聖神而滅身之邪行、必生、

爾如從欲、取死之道也。存神去欲、得生之道也。

For if you live according to the flesh, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live.

If you live under the power of sin, you will die. But by the Spirit’s power you can put to death the sins you commit. Then you will live.

For if you live by its dictates, you will die. But if through the power of the Spirit you put to death the deeds of your sinful nature, you will live.

Beloved, I beg you as foreigners and pilgrims, to abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul;

Put to death therefore your members which are on the earth: sexual immorality, uncleanness, depraved passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry.For these things’ sake the wrath of God comes on the children of disobedience.You also once walked in those, when you lived in them;but now you also put them all away: anger, wrath, malice, slander, and shameful speaking out of your mouth.

but I beat my body and bring it into submission, lest by any means, after I have preached to others, I myself should be rejected.

Those who belong to Christ have crucified the flesh with its passions and lusts.

Seeing you have purified your souls in your obedience to the truth through the Spirit in sincere brotherly affection, love one another from the heart fervently,

instructing us to the intent that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we would live soberly, righteously, and godly in this present age;

that the ordinance of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit.For the mind of the flesh is death, but the mind of the Spirit is life and peace;

that you put away, as concerning your former way of life, the old man that grows corrupt after the lusts of deceit,

For when we were in the flesh, the sinful passions which were through the law worked in our members to bring out fruit to death.

But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own lust and enticed.Then the lust, when it has conceived, bears sin. The sin, when it is full grown, produces death.

Now the deeds of the flesh are obvious, which are: adultery, sexual immorality, uncleanness, lustfulness,idolatry, sorcery, hatred, strife, jealousies, outbursts of anger, rivalries, divisions, heresies,envy, murders, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these; of which I forewarn you, even as I also forewarned you, that those who practice such things will not inherit God’s Kingdom.

There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who don’t walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus made me free from the law of sin and of death.

For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Don’t be drunken with wine, in which is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit,

Don’t grieve the Holy Spirit of God, in whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.

What fruit then did you have at that time in the things of which you are now ashamed? For the end of those things is death.

But sexual immorality, and all uncleanness or covetousness, let it not even be mentioned among you, as becomes saints;nor filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not appropriate, but rather giving of thanks.Know this for sure, that no sexually immoral person, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, has any inheritance in the Kingdom of Christ and God.
